Ty, get the other person to go through their insurance. Their company will send you a letter generally asking if you want to submit a claim to your insurance company or deal with them directly. Opt to deal with them directly. They should then give you an option of payment plan, tell them you cannot afford to pay it all in one go and would like to pay in monthly installments. There are people that are paid to help you

as for the excess dude, that usually all has to be paid in one hit.. the only installment plan I know of, is when you pay by credit card and you pay it off yourself

Deal with the insurance company of the other driver directly. Don't go through yours, it's simply not worth it. Insurance is good incase you break something that is stupidly insanely expensive or hurt someone, for little things its crap mainly because of the excess for people under 25. As I said, deal with them directly and advise them of your condition and ask for a payment plan. Heck, even the state debt recovery office here in NSW offer that (I had quite a few parking fines accrue last year and paid them all off in $100 per month installments heh heh) - insurance companies will definitely do it - as long as they get their money they are happy.

Well i just messaged the woman asking for details of her car (so i can price bumpers) and also if she would be willing to let me pay her excess for her car as my excess is so high and i would be unable to pay it for some time and until it is paid in full they will not proceed with any repairs. not sure of the legality in that though so will have to find out.. also we definantly dont have any RX front bars at work, they are so bloody rare its not funny, if Shiv's is still for sale i might look into the price of a spray and get it shipped over or import monster.. but im not too keen on IM as it takes forever!

technically me cause i hit her in the rear but she started to pull out of the slip lane and as i started to follow i looked to the right to check for cars myself and then i heard the crunch cause she hit the brakes.. i was probably doing even less than 7km/h, the shit thing is i am normally really cautious at that intersection cause people always slam the brakes for no reason but today i was tired, feeling sick and just wanted to get home and go to sleep... a mistake i wont make again... i just hope her car can be fixed cheaply and i wont have to resort to any insurance, my car i am happy to let it look like a bomb till i can get the funds to get it fixed, the headlights still work fine and there is nothing dangerous, just aesthetics.

She is a womman in her 40's and was actually fairly nice... problem is she lives 1 street away as bad as it sounds when she pulled over cause i was in "my hood" i was a split second from dropping it and hooning away and down side streets but im not that much of a kent... unless ofcourse it was a jag or something cause then its their fault they drive cars like that lol if they can afford a car that expensive they can afford their insurance

Listen to Dylan. If you try to help her out and dont involve the insurance company then it falls back on you if she is not happy with the repair. This has the potential to get bit ugly and may end up costing you more than the excess. J
