The DVD player will most likely store different resolutions depending on the port you plug it in, so plugging in using a boring RCA cable and changing resolution that way won't necessarily change your HDMI res.

I've used a HDMI->DVI-D cable for years on a little media box and its worked fine on my telly. Other than a faulty cable - or finding a higher res tv to plug it into to downgrade the resolution, not sure.

yeah i found the HDMI res and thats what i downgraded, just tried it on dads lcd monitor which is nearly same as mine and it wouldn't even turn on, so i'm just about to go take the cable back and see if they can test it or something.... might also look at upgrading to something nice

new cable didnt change anything. with a bit of google searching i dont think it's ment to work.

HDMI is DVI + SP/DIF Does the DVD player have S-VIDEO or similar so you can plug it into an older style of telly (or maybe your current one has that input) to set it up for your LCD ?

Good man, what turbo are you using? Can you use the bigger one and run it as a single? Or is a new turbz needed?
