If you have an iphone, you'll see that it's a little stainless steel looking button on the side.. that is NOT a one peice setup.. that little stainless cap is glued to the switch.. looks as though the glue gave way..

and after googling it, it's a massive issue apple know about.. 1 bloke snapped 2 buttons in 2 weeks, and refused to get another iphone replacement until they received a new batch of phones..

I didn't flick it hard at all guys, it was always a little softer than everyone elses (the button).. then it just snapped off last night as I flicked it.. as for insurance.. nope.. no insurance, but I'm still under the 12 month warranty period though... Also, don't forget, I've had mine since Nov last year, and all I do is go into meetings and rooms where phone's aren't allowed, so I have to constantly keep flicking that button.. AND, I get bored at times and keep flicking it anyway.. which means the vibrating motor was prob on it's way out too LOL
