6" fits perfectly in all 4 corners. 5.5" seems too small? i see you read about it in my thread Cam - i did have to make my own brackets to hold them in place coz the factory ones have them built in.

i have 6x9s in the rear. they dont fit. i had to make wooden spaces and drill through the parcel shelf (the chassis part - not the cork!) i still havent got photos of that!

Yeah, I'm sure my installer won't have any trouble with the fronts.

I'm just going to keep it all stock looking and put the 6.5's under the stock grilles in the back and Then put the 6inch splits in the front doors with the tweeter mounted in the top left of the door.

P.S If all goes to plan, I should own a GEN2 GX on sunday :)

Good stuff. Doing the same thing still?

I rang Shannons the other day to tell them all my mods as it was still insured as the day i bought it. Listed everything, they increased the insured value sight unseen to 16K from 12K and then promptly dropped the price to $730 a year as its not a daily driver now.

STOKED! :D

Nice, some insurance companies hear a list of mods and the dollar signs start ringing around their heads like christmas has come early. Though my insurance company are pretty ok to, fully comp with mods listed only 430 euros.

Good stuff Mark.
I hope it never happens but if you make a claim they're really good with that too.
Cheers

Good to hear Alex. Excellent to hear about your news Mark! J - They are relatively good, although the guy I dealed with my last claim (two years ago) was a bit of a jockey of the knob variety. I guess you get them anywhere you go, but overall, Shannons are good. I'm going to do some research soon into other options for imports.

don't skimp out on tyres either. or i'll come down and shank your linglongs or nankangs. I can't stand it when people spend money on good cars, only to pike out and buy chatty tyres!

Agreed......but,
Ive mentioned this before but I have Toyo T1Rs on the Lib and since putting Sumitomo HTRZIIs on the commo, I'm actually now a little disappointed in the Toyos. Still a good tyre, but the HTRZs were less than half the price and they stick really well in the wet (even on a commo). I guess the point Im trying to make is you can sacrifice on price without a sacrifice on grip, depending on what you buy. IMO the Japanese make the best tyres, all I have ever used.
