Oh.. I need my brakes changed like FArking ASAP.. wear indicators are screeching like crazy on my rears.. so i go get some quotes for changing the pads and machining the rotors.. (i already got Pads too) If i do it all myself i can get the rotors done for $15 each so $60 total + 2 hours i dont have at my disposal :( Brakes plus.. $140, at first i was like pffft $100 and its a deal considering they only want the car for 45mins but they are win cause its next to work... here is the WTF moment.. K-mart tyre and auto (i know but i need a place near work) $95... per axle...... to change pads! $140... per axle...... TO MACHINE ROTORS.... And this is with me supplying the pads!... i was standing there staring at the woman while i tried to comprehend what i just heard.. after literally about 30 seconds of silence i was like wait no.. im supplying the pads, and she says yeah i know... i actually laughed and walked out... how the hell can it be that much! Guess I'll be heading to Brakes Plus tomorrow. anyone else had stupid quotes like that? EDIT: oh to make it relative that's $470 an hour for labour.. I'm becoming a Ktas parts fitter!

machining the rotors is simple process really.. most places would have an on car disk machine also. just insane isn't it.. sucks that i dont have the time to do it though.. make more money = work more = spend more money on getting things done for yourself cause you cant do them (oh and get farking raped by the tax man)

Out of curiosity what pads are you using Ty and do you have slotted rotors? $15 a rotor sounds like a ripper price. Brakes plus or Kmart...........some choice you have!!

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I need new pads. I think I got Bendix atm. I'm actually satisfied with them. A wee bit too much brake dust though. Any recommendations?? I just want something of reasonable value/quality. Dylan - congratulations, you got the 7000th post that only 1 other person wanted :P How was your weekend up at your mates place?

Haha! Good mate, lots of sun, beer, beach and swimming so can't complain one bit. Well I can, on the basis that it was only for the weekend!

I enjoyed the photos taken from the photo day Shiv, Aek is going to post up another social meet for us NSW / Syd folk tomorrow, it will be in around 3 weeks time I believe!

Lucky you, that sure sounds like a good w/e :) Perfect beach weather...I could've worked on that tan of mine if I wasn't at the photoshoot :P

But yeh, the photoshoot went well for all but one. Whatever Aek and yourself organise, I'll be keen.

Oh BTW that strut brace kicks arse, I love it. When I bought it, I thought it'd be some wanky item that didn't do much but how wrong I was. Its def "tighter" as you put it. Rubs slightly against the wall but no biggy. Thanks heaps to you and Jonnie for getting that fucker to fit. I'll buy you a meal at Hooters sometime, its the least I could do.

Yeah it was lovely mate!

Sounds good. We'll be doing a BBQ as well but more details to come tomorrow anyway, probably find a car wash to stop at along the way too. More just an event to bring family / friends to and chill out rather than a cruise per se.

Nah mate no need to do that, honest. More than happy to help out where I can! Glad you like it. If it's doing any damage to the brace or the firewall you could apply a bit of tape to the areas that are rubbing together - strange though. I'll take a look at it next time I see you!

Dont laugh, but Im using Hong Sung (Korean)in both cars.
Cheap, little dust, cheap, wont chew the discs and they're cheap. Cost me around $40.
I had Bendix CTs but found them very poor unless the temp came up.
