You love to argue a point aye Walts :)

Brendan would be the person to ask about ABS, I reckon he'd know what the braking was like on his b4.

Arguing is hard over the interwebs! haha

I think i will keep the 18's, Meh it's just personal choice.

I fitted the rexy wheels to see what they would look like and i wasn't to keen on it.

Will be running some upper engine cleaner through it on Thursday arvo.

Group smoke sesh sounds sweet!, Could make for cool photos :P Guys i'm weighing up some options here... Buying the bits for the stereo in the GEN2 tomorrow. Single DIN headunit - Picked. 6inch splits (front) - Should i use the front doors stock tweeters to keep the neat look or could i take the old tweeters out and mount the sony ones under the stock cover? 6x9's with adapters (rear) or just use some 6's under the stock grille? Mounting the amp under the passenger seat with some velcro on the carpet. Thanks in advance!, Any pictures showing me what you have done would be great.

Hey guys,

I put a deposit down on a new ride today, i feel so empty just like when I bought the old wrx. I know when I get it i'll be over the moon, but the next few weeks are gonna be stressful!

It's an 09 YZF-R6 in blue, very classic yamaha colour. The thought of riding this thing is scary, 101kw and it weighs a mere 166kg dry.

Damn my impulse buying :dash2:

+ 1 for under seat amp install.. use seat bolt as ground point and run rca's and remote wire through centre console, i plan on making a custom bracket to secure the amp better though.. also be weary that the climate control almost always pumps hot air to the feet and as such your amp will be getting warm under there so make sure you get something with good cooling capabilities! Also front tweets are good! i would stick with the stockies tbh, too much fugging around to get some to fit in there. The parcel shelf of the gen2 is a bit too open in that the speakers dont get good bass, the gen1 has a semi enclosed speaker hole but not so good in gen2.. i spent 4x as much on the speakers for my gen2 as i did on the gen1 and still the gen1 gives you the deep gut bass but gen2 just doesnt kick it :( but i wouldnt put boxes on the rear.. the rear window is a bit small and i think you will find your rear too cluttered.. (maybe its possible to enclose the bottom of the speaker holes)?

Um R6's don't lift the front wheel on power so they =ghey. Get a new crossplane R1 or even better the new GSXR1000. Or this:

The thing is you get used to 600's within a month and want more power.

lol fair enough, imo it's plenty of power for the street. Going from a cbr250 to a 1000 is ballsy. My mates gsxr600 lifts on power so I don't see why the r6 wouldn't. It'll be getting an exhaust and a tune though, hopefully give it some more low down power. I really like the cbr1000rr's, best looking 1k at the moment.

Yes agreed on the fireblade. I want baaaad. Get a slip-on, power commander, filter and play. CBR250 is rev hapy but not speed happy. I started on an RGV250 then went tuned GSXR750 so not such a shock. My missus is thinking R6. They look sharp as.

yea the rgv's had a bit of go at least, I get a lot of mixed opinions but the general feedback I get is you will develop more as a rider going to a 600 than a 1000 first up. So I'll see how I go with it. They really do look sharp, I love the tail on them. With the fender eliminator it really sets them off.

I did worse things in the wrx, have matured a whole lot more since then. There is no messing about with sports bikes and they are very unforgiving.

Not sure about what pipe i'll be getting, maybe an akrapovic, the termi looks alright too. A friend has the black and gold scheme so I was like... cant get the same lol.

Yoshi, Termi and Akrapovic are all awesome. I have a full yoshi system on my 750 and love it. Make a vid and post it when you get it. BMC filter FTW. Or this: http://www.motologic...-services/specs

Mate, not sure if this question has been answered asn I haven't read this far through the thread yet. I've got B4 from calipers and RDA 294 mm slotted rotors with Bendix Commercial pads. (Yes, Fozzy calipers are the same as the B4 ones)
The difference between the B4 calipers and OEM is quite large. They have a heap more bite and a much firmer pedal feel. However, this story about the ABS kicking in all the time is not true. I found that the ABS kicked in frequently with the OEM calipers. I can't even recall the last time I' felt the ABS kick in now that I've changed to a larger disc and B4 calipers. Do it, do it. You won't regret it at all.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks Chris. Keen to do the upgrade when its time for new brakes. I think they're not bad now but haven't had the chance to really push them. Apart from extra bite, does it do anything for fade resistance?

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
