One for the nerds; I have used both ram slots on my computer, but that only has given me 512 - can I replace these two ram thingos with bigger ones? Or will the computer implode? It's a Dell dimension 3100, but when I go to the dell site it doesn't recognise the service code for this unit... so it doesn't tell me squat. Any help is appreciated. Geeks.

Your computer has DDR2 memory running at 400mhz, This ram is rare.

But your in luck because DDR2 memory with higher speeds (667mhz,800mhz) will work.

Use that stick in conjunction with one of your smaller sticks for a nice upgrade :)

Actually, while I've got you. I have another Dell Dimension DE051 on the other side of my desk, same thing, only has 512 - can I get the same thing for that? Just looking at shipping cost being more than the item and I may aswell get more than one. I'll owe you a beer.

It's pretty big (100x400mm) metallic silver

Hold-ups:
a: too "rice"
b: says "look @ me mr policeman"

Thoughts??

That's an older Dell, And it would be using DDR memory at 333mhz, DDR is getting old but it's still around.

That will work.

Woo, Coopers 62 is my favorite at the moment.

Speaking of computers - I've got a Dimension 4550 that I've had since 2002. I've got a brand new custom built computer sitting in front of me...I only got it because it has a really cool case with "Turbo" and "V8" written on it. Its got a front mount as well. Now I just gotta build the fucker...

LOL I'd owe you more than a beer if you came down from Newy to build it :P I'm gonna get my mate to do it for me, he works in IT.

Its got a button on the top that says "CRUISE" so I'll assume thats the cruise control. I'm very excited; my current computer only has USB 1.1 ports, which as I'm told is SHIT.

And this new comp only set me back $464 :D
