Heh i Just washed the Gen2 and gave it a quick polish this morning... is a nice day, would have loved to go for a cruise down the coast to Venus Bay and camp for the night but im broke lol.. also need to get the towbar on so i can take the trailer down.

maybe ill get started on pulling my centre console out and re-triming it as well as the climate control unit overhaul.

Can I just say- what a joke ozfail has become. The latest one to have a laugh at is an "I want to turn my AWD RX into a RWD yo".

FFS, just buy a commodore and be done with it.

With a plated 2 way in the back I can see the appeal of having a RWD spool installed, or having the centre diff welded.

I saw a plated diff for sale recently, and I was tempted.

Then I thought about the fact I probably don't need it to be RWD and that I would probably lose my license / car / burn through tyres.

RWD rexies are pretty nice to see out in the drift world, though.

Nice day on the East Coast today though. Going to go out and continue the rest of the service on my car today, I ran out of time, light and patience last night - it was way too long between stiff drinks. So I put down the tools and took the astra to my mates place to get stuck in to some coldies. I'm back and ready to conquer the horrible spark plug locations on EJ engines

Anyone got any ideas how to check an IACV. After driving for a couple of hours I stopped for a 5 min break. The engine was still hot when I started it to drive on and it would not idle and stuttered under boost. I know its the IACV staying open as I gave it a tap and it came good. Its not the first time either. I'm sick of it happening and I want to know why it opens when warm? And Alex I have a sunburnt head. Its worse than shoulders. Gives you a headache and you cannot cool it down. I think I will try to grow a comb over for summer to protect my head.

Mate if you mark the alignment on the metal (where the screws are) then undo those, you can take the top of it off. Clean that magnetic rod that the cap sits on and clean any gunk out from in that cap. Refit and give it a try.

Failing that, you may need to inspect the rubber that sits in the manifold itself, and to do this you will need to remove the IACV completely and remove your TMIC to get access to it. I would recommend sourcing a replacement gasket and rubber insert if you go down this path though. Let me know if you need the part numbers (I am pretty certain your gasket and rubber seal will be the same as the WRX, although Alex can confirm).
