Depends where its from, If its a dirty old pub i would get them to cook it longer,
If it's a nice place, i would order rare or medium rare

Uncultured swines. A well done steak does not mean burned or 'cooked the shit out of' ! A good piece of meat is still good despite the cooking time (if it is done correctly). I stick to my guns.

Medium rare is about as warm as I'd have a steak. Go above that and you start to loose the properties of a steak which give it that taste we all love so much. That said, I don't like a cold or even mild centre. Outback Steakhouse next week??

Most of the good steak houses will say 'we recommend medium-rare' anyway. That's how I like it - medium/rare. I like the pink bits.
