Ugh. Here we go again. Australia day, and you tards flashing flags around the place. Without getting historical on your asses, I'm somewhat ashamed of Australia's recent history (ie, since Captain Cook landed) and even recent politics (don't even get me started. I'll have an aneurysm. All facets are absolutely, and ashamedly shithouse.) So you have a flag on your car. Or several. We get the idea. You're most likely a misinformed, brainwashed patriotic gimp who's happy to sweep all that is embarrassing and wrong with the country under the rug, and put on a false front for the world for one day, with a slight hint of racism and racial pride. But I ask you. Can you exactly tell me..... what is it that you're proud of? I believe we've got a long long way to go before we can even consider ourselves proud as a nation. Don't get me wrong. Geographically, this country is awesome. I too enjoy Australia day. I'll be enjoying an awesome music festival whilst drinking alcohol. I'll also celebrate the day with family and friends with a BBQ and some more alcohol. You won't see me getting all epileptic with glee by plastering the Southern Cross along with that hideous Union Jack all over my ride. And sure as fuck, you won't see me wearing the flag like a cape. God Fist the Queen. With a chainsaw. If anything, I'd rather display the Aboriginal flag. I'll be celebrating the land of oppertunity. There's no way in hell I'll be celebrating the fuckwits who've ruined this country. And I'm sorry. Cronulla is only too recent a wound. We have a long long long way to go in terms of creating the ideal Australia... An independent Republic, where we're no other country's bitch. Where we can stand up for ourselves and look after land and animals (whales come to mind) without the fear of repercussions from other countries. A land where many people of different races can come together without any fear of prejudice and celebrate a land free of oppression. I'm not Sam Kekovich. That jerk can shove a lamb chop up his arse. No one eats mutton anywhere else in the world, except the middle east. Let's see him go there and campaign for lamb there.

Like I said earlier, people over east think it has so many negative connotations. That's just sad that people around you where you live have lead you to feel this way. Maybe it's because we don't live in a labour state? Maybe it's because I live in the country? Maybe it's because the land is my labour of love and the bearer of the fruits for which I make a living? Maybe it's because day in, day out I see hundreds of people who have travelled from far and wide to either visit us, or have made a home and life for themselves here in this 'shame of a country'? Maybe it's because I get annoyed at the fact more people know about the heritage of St Patrick's day than they do Australia Day? Maybe it's because an American told me yesterday that no Australians care about Australia? Maybe it's because I'm proud that so many different nations have decided to come to Australia to live because they see what some people don't see? Maybe it's because I don't think we can really piss and moan about political injustices and people being oppressed through process because it's just NOT THAT BAD? Let's agree to disagree guys. But don't for a second think I am patriotic for the wrong reasons. This is a celebration of Australia, not some kind of white pride march? Damn. I'm glad I live out here right now. Kisses and cuddles though.

I wonder if my parents Muslim neighbors will be having their friends over this year again, as they normally do. Like Nik says, in Perth its not all about bogan white power with the hectik dunnysoors doing single peggers. its still about gathering with friends/family and having a good time over whatever it is that makes you like being here, which for me is the relatively easy going lifestyle and my friends. <3 Oz <3 friends and fam <3 oz day when I get it off

Thanks.

I like to think of my rants as a bit of a hit and miss affair.

Can't win them all.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees it this way.

But I've said my piece, and I won't be dissecting Nik's reply, as much as it's possible.

Wouldn't lead to anywhere, inevitably.

Perhaps I need to move.

Aus has a bit of a shitty past when it comes to different cultures etc but instead I look to the future and hope a lot of that dies off.... I will celebrate Aus day .. as will some of the other dudes I work with who are not just Lebanese but also Nepalese, Indian, African and Italian have all decided to celebrate it this year and good on them, if some dirty bogan puts shit on them for doing so I wish for them to spontaneously combust and burn to death.

Yeah, But you can't drive there.

Dyldo, When i click on a subcribed link it my email it no longer takes me to the lastest un-read post, Only to the top of the page, It seems to be doing this since the update yesterday, is this an easy fix?

Will take a look dude. What browser you using?

If its the one next to Ryda then it is a safety cam sorry dude... its the Parramatta Road/Flood street Cam leichhardt.

To make you feel better about possibly getting fined Dylan.... some soothing boobs

Boned. Massively. All I can hope for now is that I wasn't 45km/h over (was close though).

I am unsure as to whether they are actually issuing fines for those things yet. Either way, I should get off my P's ASAP.

One of the first times I've run the gauntlet with a changing light as well, usually will err on the side of caution and stop. Spewing.
