Lol, the hubby believes her Going by the book service int for B4's are 12.5K. I'm with Jase, oil is cheap compared to rebuilds. I do oil/filter bout every 6k (1/2 the recomended int).

I have always changed oil and filter on all my cars at 5k.
Just as important as engine oil are the other fluids, especially coolant.
Keep them all in top shape causes far less problems IMO.

I don't think that if you left the oil in for 12K it would destroy your engine (I still don't leave mine that long)

I also don't think there would be any noticeable difference in changing your oil at 5K over 7K, not that its wrong to do so

SHIT YES!!! Coolant too, especially in out alloy buckets, electrolosis FTL! a well earthed engine with nice fresh coolant is soo far under-rated.
