So, at the moment i have a Pod Filter in the Engine bay (been running it for about a week without the AFM, but the AFM adapter arrived in the post last night, so no more check engine light ) Anyway, if i extended the piping into the guard (as i should) would i still hear the "Ssshhhhhhhhhhh chhhh" as much? Or would it be quieter?

Mine is near the fog lights (as in the very front of the guard)... the whistle from the turbo is... uh.. noticeable

Good to hear! The sound is bloody amazing! and it sounds like there's an after market BOV.

I'll make up some piping + Silicon joiners on the weekend

I would mount it a similar distance from the throttle body as standard.

Oh, and we got the SiFilis yestd'y arv, seems to have been very well maintained, near perfect service hist., paint/int is mac, drives nice... they handle bloody well for a lunch box.
