How far can i drive a car with a spilt CV boot?

A bloody long way. It'll make a big mess, they'll get a bit noisy after a while but pretty much as long as it takes to get it fixed.. the charade had one busted boot for prob 10-15000k before I changed the shaft.

If you can tell me what this says, I'll give you a prize.

I thought Transformers (shape of the word)... obviously that's wrong, what does it say?

Should I entertain the idea of buying this;

I just surfaced then. (1pm) Longest I have ever slept in, my head hurts. Those who are Fbook friends with me on here will know how seedy and polically incorrect the night was lol 600 odd people with teatowels on their head and lots of women dressed as slutty belly dancers.

Thanks Buzz, that makes me feel better about driving the 12k's to my Mechanic next to work tomorrow.
It's only a tiny hole but has made a trail of grease around the inside of the wheel lol

I'll also see if he can cut out my rear shocker bolts and put in my coilovers haha

Yer man, not a gigantic concern, especially if you're not on unsealed roads etc.

I wrapped it in electrical tape, it's the Walts way. But it didn't seem to stick too well. :D

Meh i think my LH CV is busted, both boots look fine and no mess but turning left or right i get a kinda cracking/knocking sound from the LHF that or my wheel bearing is shot.. Tom, I know CVs can last for yonks with the boot gone :P Gen1 has a split boot that has squished its grease out all over the firewall but that was so long ago that now most of that grease has dried up and fallen off.. still makes no sounds and works fine lol

Surely that's not counted as a "Production Car" around the ring, just look and the windows, and you can only drive it when they say you can.

Your right, it is sort of 'cheating' in a sense. But inevitably, all the various supercar manufacturers will end up releasing semi-production cars like this and running it round the 'ring with incredible times.

For reference though, that image is from the Budapest GranTurismo event that is on at the moment.

That chrome 612 is gaudy.
