Was going to wash the sled, when she didn't want to start.
Funny noises coming from the starter (like it was missing teeth or something).
Got on to the blower to Marv, Marty, & Ben regarding a spare starter (as I was preparing a viking's funeral for this starter motor)
They had none (within close proximity) and I needed it repaired pronto... as I had to go out tonight.
So I decided to be uberghetto porkhunt racer styles, and reco the bastard myself.
off it came and I saluted it. (so glad I didn't urinate on it at this point)

pulled it apart, degreased it, cleaned up the electrical contact points, put it back together, and put it back in the sled.
well whaddya know. it starts faster and cleaner than before.
pity its going to be turfed in a month's time anyways.

Yes Jase.Nice one.

On the toothed wheel of the starter, there was only about 7mm that was clean, and me thinks that there wasn't enough contact surface area against the flywheel, hence the solenoid wasn't engaging properly.
Inside the solenoid was a contact that was particularly dirty. Time was of an essence, and the Macgyver theme music was playing in my head, so I put a little stone wheel onto my dremel, and gently cleaned the contacts with that.
Also, in the starter, there was more shiz. Consulting a couple in the know, it wasn't worth opening the thing, so I just marinated it with degreaser a few times, shook it, and emptied it.
After leaving it to dry and repeated the process (remember, time was of the essence... I had to go out that night!)
Starts like a champion now.
It only has to last another month, its getting a completely new starter motor anyways..... 6 speed has its own proprietary starter motor
