Last week a large group (about 30) of us went to an Indian resteraunt for dinner. We booked two weeks ahead.

45mins passed before our orders were taken, then another 1.5 hours before the meal was served. We ate at 10pm.

No tippage was given.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

When are you in Sydney next, Nik?

We'll take you and Leash there for a feed.

It's not as posh as some of the stuff you post up (like blue vein potato chips) but I guarantee you, you'll love it.

And it's certainly not a "beef'n'black bean" kind of affair either... Their food is remarkably delicious!

Normally I would have walked out too Alex, but it was a good friends 40th birthday.
Way to kill a party.

Nik, I have a solution to your being tipped problem, put a jar on your counter with a note - "Lukosh Cash Appeal, please donate generously" and I can pick it up each MDSC or interim visits if I feel I need to bug you at other times :P hehehehe

I don't mind tipping unless it is expected...

Jase, that happened at the last hooters meet I was at.

We gave him a hard time as he walked up to the counter.

I have no problem tipping if the service and food is exceptional. However because of the way it is in Aus, I find it awkward in other countries. Because the wages are do bad in the US, you're expected to tip no matter how good the experience was. Apparently they wait for it, practically blocking the door until you throw 10% their way.

I found it hard in Thailand because of the language barrier. The folk are so pleasant everywhere you go so you don't feel guilty when you don't tip but I think you are supposed to. I forgot to do my social economic research before I went!

They're such nice people. If you choose their restaurant they pretty jump all over you anyway! I'm happy to tip them. I'm not on a big salary by any means but compared to Thai kitchenhands....

Funny thing about this is, that whenever I go out with my mates who are well off (doctors - surgeons and anaethetists) THEY ALL DO THIS.

As nurses, we can do this too (apparently... we don't get cash bonuses. Apparently, the government rewards us with this privelege of claiming "meals and entertainment" as a tax deduction)

I don't do it.

Maybe I should.

I can get the meals and entertainment benefit too working for a NFP organization. I have a fringe benefit debit card instead. I can put up to 620$ a fortnight onto it and it's all tax free :)

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Sounds like a plan! Probably later this year - November'ish.

We're not all royal blue potatoes and fillet steak, mate!

As long as we can go to the Messikaahn joint in newtown I'm IN!

I'm thinking of designing some heated thongs.

Thoughts?

I don't want sheepskins, but while I was waiting for my job to turn up this morning I was sitting on a bucket and heating up my thongs with my heatgun, then wearing them. It was awesome.
