NAB recently announced it would establish a package of special relief measures for customers affected by the recent Margaret River Bushfires.

We would like customers affected to contact NAB asap to discuss their circumstances, so that customers can get their personal and business finances under control again as quickly as possible.

The available assistance covers both NAB and Homeside customers. Relief can be offered by bankers (as outlined below) or customers should be referred to NAB Care.

Bankers can:

• Waive costs and charges for withdrawing term deposits early;
• Waive home loan and personal loan fees and charges;
• Allow customers access to upto $10,000 cash interest free for a set period of time to help recover from these devastating circumstances.

NAB Care can assist customers by:

• Suspending home loan repayments;
• Credit Card and Personal Loan relief where appropriate; and
• Provide support for restructuring existing banking facilities.

And no, im not promoting the bank or anything like that (I'm sure other banks will do the same) but I think its cool that we can offer stuff like that for affected customers.

I think it is, with enough organisations out there reaming everyone senseless it is good to see that some are willing to help when help is required. I understand it is probably more a market ploy than compassionate grounds, it still helps the customer at the end of the day though.
