I have been putting it off for months, haha. Its amazing how much difference it makes, mainly due to looking at it every minute or so to make sure im not speeding.

Should look neater with the shinny rings around the gauges once i get around to ordering them.

Welcome to gen2 RX ownership.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Ahahahah
ahhhhhh

nice call Xon

Ren-Dog.. i hope this was not a big surprise? symptoms would be there for some time no?

Anyway, easy answer.. new MLS gasket (last time i checked was retailing for $119 each from Makin & Luby in Melbourne

whole engine out job.

mechanically minded.. 3 days work and $800 - $1000, depending what you change (my advice.. change everything you can afford to)

non mechanically minded... $3500 - $4500 for a 100k service and Head Gasket replacement..

this quote is a few years old but use it for part numbers.. they are all the revised gaskets.

AMAuto found me a low kay motor, stripped it, skimmed the heads and put 4 layer metal headgaskets in along with replacing everything else as per the 100K service and delivered it to my door for $2950.

Old motor out, new one fitted in a day by myself. Replaced all exhaust gaskets while I had it out.

Ren, jump on the townsville section of rexnet and see if anyone can lend a hand in doing it...just provide beers and a bbq. You seem to like DIY stuff and it would be a great learning curve for you. That or sell the car and buy my sti :P

Good luck getting it all sorted.
