Thats the IPv6 loopback apparently.

::1 Localhost is the equivalent to 127.0.0.1 Localhost but using IPv6 protocol format , ::1 localhost is valid when Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is implemented on a system.

IPv4 127.0.0.1
IPv6 ::1

"::" is an abbreviation for missing zeros, so this loopback entry really means

0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1 localhost

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Localhost

It is just the same as 127.0.0.1 apparently, from a quick Google. And I just learnt something new, I haven't paid much attention to IPv6.

Because going to Google it said 'welcome to nginix!' or any other big site, like yahoo/windows blah blah.

I figure those sites don't really break. Once I removed that from my hosts file, I can get back on to all these websites?

Apparently the nginix thing can mean I've been 'hijacked' - it happened directly after buying something online as well - literally straight after processing my CC details!

Hence the worry!

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.
