These are the comments from the thread I pulled that link from.
As I understand it, IBU is a measure based on percentage of humulone and other alpha acids; if other bittering compounds are used, it would not technically have any measured IBU.
That's true. Alpha acids are nearly unique to the hop plant, and IBU is a measurement of the isomerized alpha acids in a beer. No hops, no alpha acid, no IBUs.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,right off.

IBU being the measure as determined by hop addition, so you're saying two separate things.
Zero IBU's does not equal zero bitterness because they are adding bittering ingredients - just not hops.
