Swag under a hutchie will not be warm as in the snow. It certainly wasn't warm the several times I did it. That was with temps of around 4-5*c.

Hey guys how is everyone. snow was 'ing amazing Saturday thredbo 40cm wind blown pow all day long......windy as but.
Did some back country stuff golf course bowl & dead horse gap. Miss snow bunny at LJ's looked at tits & arse & drunk some beers.
Today perisher blue bird with alittle fresh snow SO MANY PEOPLE!!!! LIFT LINES ARRRAAAGH. Played in the park finally hit the 60ft on front valley. I havent been so nervous like that in a long time. epic weekend. sorry guys but had to share.

Unless you are the very first car to go up the mountain after a huge snow storm you will easily be fine with the speed limit.

sorry JC but this is bad advice (if the speed limit is 40 then yes). I guy in a really nice forester (acouple of cars in front of me) lost control due to snow that has melted on the road then turned into ice (black ice) forester is no more. i took a photo of the car (will put it up later) its wasnt pretty, poor bloke
