Smashed rim ?

Good guess, but no.

Anyway, I head up the road on the road test in the mighty H6 with all dragons unleashed then pull up at the lights.

Unmarked cop car pulls up behind me. Oh fork, Im done I think.

Chuck a left and he follows, so I turn into a side street and he pulls me up.

"Do you know why we pulled you over?" he askes.

"Yeah mate. Im on a test drive from the dealer and I was giving it a bit." I say.

Puzzled look on the cops face. "Got you licence?" he askes.

I hand him my licence and he asks "Did they give you any trade plates?"

"No".

"Do they know you have the car?" He askes.

"Yes" I say with a puzzled look.

"The vehicle is unregistered" he says.

WTF!

He hands me the ticket and I say "What about the speeding?" (I was giving it a fair bit)

"What?" he says. "Were you speeding?"

"Yes" I say "Isn't that why you pulled me over?"

"Nope. We just pulled up behind you and did a random rego check"

"Ah OK" says me.

"I wondered why you said your were giving it a bootful. How fast were you going?" he asks

"Never mind" I say with a smirk on my face.

He grins and drives off.

I ring the dealer to come down with some trade plates and we he finally arrives we head back to the dealership.

$704 fine issued to me for driving an unregistered vehicle.

Then I get the hard word to buy it! Hahaha

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Thats quite a story. So who is paying the fine? Surely the dealers will be.

As this is a large dealership I would think it has already been paid, it just hasn't shown up on tha data base as it's only out of reg by 4 days.

If it is unregistered then they can pay. I made this quite clear to the sales person.

But....In a court of law I, as the operator of the vehicle, am the one responsible.

We'll see what comes of it.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Fair enough.I guess its something that you wouldn't really check on a test drive.

Hahaha

Clutch is rooted and they just put a set of Nankangs on it.

I told them Im not taking it like that.

Regardless, Im not buying that one as my 'car sense' tells me to stay away....

.......and it drove like a shitbox.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

We do have rego stickers but I never checked.

Never bothered when I was in the trade either but Im sure Iv'e driven unregistered cars without knowing.
One job the work ute was out of reg for 18 months until I pointed it out to the boss!

I still can't believe how bad this car drove given it was a top of the line model when it was new.
The next one better be a whole lot better or Im getting a 2.5 5sp.

Those H6 engines really need winding up.....a lot.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
