Hey WA Nik,

I'm making strawberry liqueur, about 2.5 weeks ago I just chopped up half a punnet, put it in a jar, added sugar and Absolut Vodka, then a week later drained, strained put damp strawberries back in jar, added butt load of sugar (Sugar pulls out the alcohol sucked up by the fruit). Put drained alcohol in bottle in liquor cabinet. Then strained strawberries a week later, added alcohol to bottle, put strawberries back in jar and added more sugar.....

This sound about right? Got the recipe/method off some drunkmansguide.com thing. Only using a small amount of strawberries and vodka because making liqueur virgin.

Cheers,
Nick

A nice tip is to add sugar syrup, instead of straight granules, back to the jar. Saves a fair bit of time in the process, also, I would be careful about doing it twice, Absolut is only around 40% isn't it? It should be plenty sweet enough after one leaching.

Only if you do or say something funny.

I don't seem to have to do anything with this Mo to make people laugh.

Ha ha, you got that right.

That design of the new UTS building looks like a maccas bag scrunched up just after eating your meal, without the big 'M' on it.

Cheers for that.

Yeah I'm going to strain them once more and then call it quits, I don't want to age it too much, probably drink it around Christmas time while it's still sweet, if it goes well I hope to make it again but 10x bigger.

Just be careful on how much sugar mix you're adding back, it won't essentially 'age' it will just get older and taste less fresh. How's the colour on it?

If you dip the alcohol too low, and it sees some heat, it can go into ferment and go nasty and spritzy. Happened to me with a product that was 11.8%, started fermenting and blowing lids and pouring like a fizzy drink!

Evil, yo!

Yeah sure is, because some days I don't have time to get out there, so I have it set to do 30 second bursts three times a day

Worst part about these massive events down here... internet cannot cope with the influx of people.

We have leavers + this Gourmet Escape dealy, they are saying around 50,000 non residents are here (which I find a stretch because there's nowhere near that in commercial accomm. in the region) but Telstra reckons they just;

"Can't cope with the amount of people on the network"

Fuckin' prioritise the business over schoolies sending texts to their mum and dad telling them they are fine, just having a killer come down.

Yeah sure is, because I'm the laziest hard working man in the world.

hahaha yeah you hit the nail on the head Nikko.

Though this morning I showed them some love (that is when I took the pics) I was up at 5:30 so I smashed some fertiliser on them and watered it in.

Also growing cucumbers, so I had to fix those little fuckers to a lattice thing I have behind them so that the vines grow up.

If she can't afford it, who the Posted Image can hahahahaa Gina.

Asked by independent Fairfax Media director Jack Cowin if she had any regrets, Ms Rinehart admitted she wished she had invested in Channel Ten when he had first invited her but "I couldn't afford it"
