@Adam: Pest control bloke said to me that as long as you do the spraying on a warm sunny day, keep the pets away until it's dried right out (2/3 hours), you should be apples.

All the vinegar/salt etc tricks work for drying the weeds out, but are pretty much more unfriendly environmentally than Glyphosate.

Nah they don't play all year round. They play in multiple leagues at the same time. FA cup runs about the same length as the premiership season, but they generally have a week off from premiership if they are playing FA cup matches. If you're good enough you can also play in either the Champions league ( European clubs) or Euafa cup. So they could potentially play in 3 competitions.
The friendlies are only for international games. Ie national teams not club.
Pretty grueling schedule for some if the top teams. 3 competitions plus international call ups. Could play several times in a week.
