Nope, it's not going crazy. Statistically some one would have stabbed a cop this year in Melbourne anyway, this one just appears different due to the kid's religious back ground and behaviour.

fork off any individuals/groups with signs of extremism and prevent them from coming back to Australia. The government should make a campaign called 'Your Chance to Leave and Not Return', that way people are given a CHOICE to revoke their Australian citizenship, obtain citizenship wherever they want to go and fork off for good.

 

Prevents the government from discriminating and the such as they are giving that choice for people to make.

 

The rest can be dealt with accordingly by the police/AFP/ASIO/Oliver Queen.

The problem isn't their 'cause' however bankrupt it is, the problem is the individuals themselves. If this was Ireland they would have joined the IRA, if this were Ukraine they would have joined the separatists. These aren't devout Muslims they're just knobs who are using a convenient cause to act like wankers, much like the kids who think as soon as they are in a nightclub or music festival drugs and sexual assault are no longer illegal and you can act however you want.

 

The problem lies in young impressionable youth being disenchanted with society, and society letting them go or ignoring them, whilst on the outer they find these extremist views that give meaning to the youth's life and therefore make them follow it more so. I have seen the reverse in the military, youth being so far the other way that it's worrying how 'patriotic' (read xenophobic) they have become due to separation from normal society.

 

We saw what happened in Egypt when masses of youth who felt they had no purpose rioted and overthrew a Govt during the Arab spring. Give people a purpose and we'll have no problems.

I also don't see the use in publicising or chasing down Muslim Council's for comments when a Muslim is arrested or killed.

 

You don't see priests getting interviewed when a Christian commits a crime.

Separate these acts from the religion, allow the differentiation to occur in the general public, quash these ignorant beliefs that Islam encourages terror, and also focus on these radical right wing Aus Defence League parties that are also doing nothing for us.

Yep, due to their lack of apathy, that seems rife within modern Australia. Australia has become too apathetic, therefore allowing any bankrupt cause to lure people away. We need a more defined common cause for young people and all people to aspire to, something that isn't materialistic such as buying a house or a fast car, Instagraming ourselves, Youtubing, Facebooking etc, but more so a way of conducting our lives that contributes to our self worth.

 

We need to create a hybrid of all the morals (not beliefs) we find in religion, all religions, and apply that to our lives and society. Perhaps then we will see a return to a society that actually cares about each other, rather than this Americanised walk-past-the-old-lady-who-fell-over-cos-it's-too-embarassing-to-be-seen-to-give-a-shit mindset we have developed.
