Thanks gents, that's really encouraging. A lot of the motivation to work on the car comes from seeing your builds. Cheers.

And Mark I'll take that! Pretty sure that's the highest praise I'll ever get from a wagon driver :D

Now I just need a length of dark grey felt and I can finish mounting the amp and finally get some tunes back in the car. I came really close to tapping out and paying a shop to install. I'm glad I didn't.

I recently came across a Gen3 goldmine of DIYs on clubsubNZ. All from the same author and after reading a few it looks like his work is solid. Thought it was worth a share:

I finished installing the sub and amp this weekend. First crack and 100% DIY. I now have sick beats. That is all.

Actually, that is not all. I'm thinking about the last 18 months and getting increasingly bummed out by the number of Gen3 owners who have moved on. Are they just getting a bit old now?

Naww man.

Not so much getting too old but with moron coming soon, I just don't have the time and the money to sink into it anymore. Plus we didn't really "plan" for it this soon lol I was hoping to have it "done" by that time came around.

If I had the space and the money, I would absolutely keep it as a weekender and just buy a Gen4 N/A for duties.

I love my car but circumstances and plans change. Don't need to sell though and if I don't get what i want for it, it won't be going anywhere.

Don't know about old...... I'm searching for late model Outbacks for my father in law and my car is in waaaaaay better knick than pretty much all I've seen (also a lot less kms too!)

Age ain't a thing. My parents have a Gen 3 with 200k kms. Thing is in showroom condition still.

Good clean TT Gen 3s are getting rarer and rarer. I think you'll find this beast will crack necks more than a STi come HVC.

If it does sell, I'm planning on replacing it with a Gen3 Outback manual anyway. :D

Fair enough fellas. :) I do love having smart people to answer my dumb questions about Gen3 life and to swap stories about how you found a handy fix for something that has been bothering you. I guess a changing community is just the nature of the beast!

I keep dropping hints to Mrs C about getting a GF8. She tells me she loves the idea as long as I sell the RSK.

Won't be getting a GF8 in a hurry then :negative:

Gracias, buen senor!

Will PM you her number. You drive a wagon so she'll listen because you're clearly sensible and practical-minded

RSK and GTB?

What a pairing! I do really like the Gen2 GTBs.

And I definitely don't have the pesos to afford an MY02 E-TuneII though :-)
