hey fellas,

got bored so i decided to post up my car here and because i was told to lol.

anyway its a 97' LX (REALLY basic i have to say haha) wagon AWD 5 spd manual. I've done a few things to it but nothing serious.

Ghetto CAI
Front STi Strut brace
and it came with a sh!t JVC head unit.
Got some leggy brakes waiting to go on. Found out they didnt fit under steelies so i have, so i had to go and buy some wheels, damn what a shame that was :P.
MY98 Rexie wheels painted gold pearl.

plans: whiteline 22mm sways front and rear (adj) with H/D alloy links
whiteline removable rear strut brace
wheels of some sort (hubcaps are ****)
RDA rotors all round and some new pads of some sort
Ebay headers (do they still sell them?)
2.25'' cat back with some mufflers that aint a cannon
tint
techworkz CAI
new bushes
ALK
slim line weather shields
boot spoiler
DIY front lip (should be interesting)

probably alot of other things, most of these wont get done as my job is sh!te and being at school doesnt help.

anyway this thread is useless without pics sooo..........

Sounds like you've got some pretty sensible mods in line for the car. It will be great to see the progress. Oh.. Yep, the headers are still available on ebay.

Looks good mate. Instead of making a lip spoiler, why not find a Ralley kit? Or even still, a GT kit?

DIY lip = under $100
Ralley or GT kit = more than $100

if i could afford either of the proper kits id buy one but i have the povo job remember lol

have a look around mate, try some wreckers.
Ralley kits are fairly common, so you might be able to pick up the lip, skirts and rear lip for a couple hundred.

Another option is to work on all of the handling mods e.t.c first and then work on the visual mods later. That way you'll be able to save up for a nice genuine kit instead of going for the DIY look. (nothing wrong with DIY, but a factory look always looks much cleaner!)

Top stuff Ash, looks like mine did at the start. Mods sound right on the money. Where you getting the brakes from? :D I like an even mix of performance and looks myself. Your wagon is '97, but that front bar is series1?

As is the front Grille. Ash, check the build date, it should be on the passenger side B-pillar down the bottom on a small blue tag.

checked the buld plate. feb 97. i think whats happened was its been in a front end bingle and theyve just been lazy and put on series 1 parts. you can tell (that its had a crash) cause theres some over spray on the left wing mirror and the front left quater panel does quite match the bonnet or door paint but its hardly noticeable. musnt've been serious cause it still tracks dead straight. cheers ash

Quiet possibly. Can anyone confirm that the LX got the S2 face lift as well? In any case, at least the majority of lip spoilers will fit the S1 bar.

Yes, all series 2 got the facelift. My LX was series 2. Seems to me as though the original bumper and grille went to car heaven (accident perhaps) and it was replaced by series 1 items. But as Paul stated, get a GT / Rallye front lip. Bolt straight up along with the GT / Rallye projector foggies, then your front will look like mine :D
