So I have finally decided to make a build thread to try and help push me into actually finishing the build on my car. Due to work, kids and lack of motivation I have barley done any major work to the car for a while now.

History.

The car was bought at the end of 2012 and was mechanically stock as a rock. Except for an auto to manual swap. Only problem was the previous owner couldn't get it started and had given up trying. Ended up paying $1500 on the spot for it got it towed home.

The body was straight with no rust and paint was near perfect except for the rear driver side door handle which was a bit flakey. Came with 10 months rego, brand new BC BR coil overs ,99 wrx front seats and double din head unit so was pretty pleased with my purchase. What I did tell the previous owner when I was looking over it was that I could see that two of the original coil packs had massive cracks right though them, so immediately thought that was why it would start. So went picked up a set of second hand Bosch coil packs and installed them an behold it started first go.

Drove it around for a while as it was but finally started modding it. Just a boost tee and gauge and put the tiny little vf10 at 15 pound. Awesome little turbo had full boost by 2200 rpm :). Surprised a lot of people off the line.

But any way 2 clutches and 2 gearboxes later ( no not my driving put it down to a problem I found with clevis from the clutch pedal to the cylinder. ) , tdo5h and a few other little bits and pieces the big end decided it wanted to start knocking on Boxing Day 2013. So off the road it came.

The plan was to replace it with a stock engine and leave it as it was as it was still my daily. But the day after I got the new engine home my good mate put his project wrx up for sale. He had spent ~$15-20k on it in the previous 2 years with the goal to make it a 300kw car.

Any after a bit of negotiating I bought the whole car for 5k. It had no rego and required a blue slip so I grabbed all the goodies out of it and parted the rest out and nearly broke even with what I paid for it.

So that's where the story is up to. I have most of the mechanicals installed and have a lot of little bits and pieces to do as well as finishing the wiring loom.

SPECS.

EJ207 with CP forgies and unknown rods.
99 JDM big port heads with BC 272 cams 1mm oversized valves.
Garret GTX3071
38mm external gate
Adaptronic ecu
Alloy radiator
Flipped FMIC
Billet fuel rails
All braided lines in engine bay
650cc injectors. (Will upgrade to ID1000)
3" TBE
Walbro fuel pump
AEM wideband, tru boost and oil pressure gauges.
Ls1 coilpacks
1.4kg lithium battery

And more I can't think of off the top of my head.

And a six speed is on the cards as well.

I was thinking around 1300kg by the time I had finished with the weight saving. But it is just going to be a quick daily they will see the drags maybe occasional track day. So not overly worried about its final weight.

I never set out to build a car that will be this quick but it all so of came together at the right without throwing too much cash at it.

This is nice an all, but it's no WRP10 PBSpecial

:D

Seriously though, good to see this coming about.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

Should embarrass the unsuspecting :P

Going plumbback gate, or up yours EPA?

Gonna wait for 6 speed or risk the torque sledge hammer that that turbo will be on the 5 speed for a while? Either way gonna be a fun car :D

I was looking for a WRP10 but because of how rare they are none were in my price range :dash2:

Would love to have a screamer but considering the cops on the coast and the fact they occasionally set up a defect station near my house plumback is the way to go.

As for the six speed i am hoping to purchase and install before the car is back on the road but pending funds I might have to stay off boost for a bit

Hahaha. I love how you planned on it being a standard daily. Why do these things always work out to be the exact opposite? Shopping list looks mad!
