So the new season is getting closer and the first day of testing at Jerez has just wrapped up so thought it time to start a new 2015 F1 discussion thread.

What do you guys think of the 2015 cars so far?

Sauber

04 Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull 1:23.338 0.718 35 laps
05 Valtteri Bottas Williams 1:23.906 1.286 72 laps
06 Carlos Sainz Jr. Toro Rosso 1:25.327 2.707 46 laps
07 Fernando Alonso McLaren 1:40.738 18.118 6 laps

I like that sauber has gone with an unique livery.... Silvers and whites were a bit too boring

That Red Bull livery looks like it has been coughed up. DO NOT ADJUST YOUR SET.

Liking the new shapes of the cars though.  Williams and Sauber are my favourites.

Jarez day two..

01 Sebastian Vettel Ferrari 1:20.984 88 laps
02 Luiz Felipe Nasr Sauber 1:21.867 0.883 89 laps
03 Valtteri Bottas Williams 1:22.319 1.335 61 laps
04 Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 1:22.490 1.506 91 laps
05 Max Verstappen Toro Rosso 1:24.167 3.183 73 laps

07 Jenson Button McLaren 1:54.655 33.671 6 laps

Hamilton and Maldonado both had reliability issues and Kvyat had an off smashing the only front wing they currently had at Jerez for the RB11

It may not be about the 2015 season of Formula 1, but this concept F1 car looks schmick from Ferrari.

I just noticed that the driver's helmet is "part" of the car and contributes to its aerodynamics.

I'm so happy that F1's coming to Foxtel, all the sky interactive will now be available, all free practice sessions, pre and mid season testing and pit lane coverage televised and less ads during the race and qualifying. And EVERYTHING in HD.

If you like sport you MUST have Foxtel.

Oh well, I must be the minority who don't see the point of paying so much for pay tv...

Looks like online viewing for me it is....

+1.

We'll get much more out of it than just the race. I can't wait.

Foxtel is ridiculously cheap these days though isn't it? About $15/month?

I wouldn't get it, but cheap enough if you want sport. If they take NFL off Free-to-Air I'll get it.

For me the amount of money I used to spend in one weekend going to the pub to watch premier league covers the monthly premium package for Foxtel which is the main reason I got it + I also get to enjoy all the other programming they have to offer 24/7.  It also means I didn't have to go to one of the 24 hour city pubs like the Off Broadway, Charlie Chans or Star City Casino to watch games at 3am (up to 3 times a week). I can watch them at home, eat my own food and drink my own beers. I can also record games to watch later.

As an armchair sports fan, i follow FA Cup, League Cup, FFA Cup, a-league, Serie A, Copa Italia,  La Liga, Copa Del Ray, Bundesliga, V8's, Nascar, F1, Formula Drift, Global Rally Cross, Le Mans, Formula E, NRL, AFL, X-Games, ASP Surfing, Street League Skateboarding, College Football, NFL, NBA, College Hoops and get to watch it all in glorious HD (that list is to make a point ;) ). I also subscribe to beWIN sports (used to be Setanta) for additional soccer leagues. That's a lot of sport I can watch from home and not have to spend money going out to see or not see at all as most of it isn't played in public venues anyway.

Add all of the other "entertainment" programming to that inc movies etc, it's easily up there with the best $125 (just over $4 a day) I spend every month.

I know for some people it's not in the budget but as a sports fan there can surely be no denying its value.

Seriously considering getting foxtel atm. The $50 per month sports combo is pretty good value.
