I went for a job interview about a month ago and the interview went well and they said they would contact me in 1-2 weeks to let me know if I was successful or not.

 

So its now a month later and in the mean time I have already had another interview for a different company and was offered the position and have taken it. Anyways I'm kinda pissed off about that first interview so I rang the business to find out whats going. I ask to speak with the manager and he was busy at the time and the girl answering the phone took my details and had informed me that the position had been filled and the manager would call me back.

 

4 hours later and still no call so I call them back and finally get a hold of the manager. He says the position was been filled and the new staff member is on probation and the other 25 people who had interview would be contacted after his probation period ends.

 

What the actual fork???

 

So I tell him thats not good enough. I took time out of my day to show up for the interview and you don't even have the time to call me or at the very least send out a mass email to let people know that the position has now been filled?

 

What absolute cubt.Why the fork would you leave people hanging like that?

You send an email out saying it has been filled and to thank you for your time and efforts. If the person doesn't make the cut once his probation period is up THEN you contact those that applied asking whether they're still interested.

 

I guess people have different ways of managing their business/es...

 

I'm not having a good run of job applications at the moment. I just can't seem to be the applicant that stands out from a cover letter/resume point of view. I might see how much those resume writers are.
