Yeah its all personal preference I guess.

 

I just like to be able to control the revs, and know how the car will respond if needed to drop down a few gears to overtake etc..

New car is an auto. I pushed for auto


Is it the new style big forker or the original style ranger?

Is the only "bad" thing about CVT the fact that it's automatic? If that's the case, care factor = 0. Auto is preferred personally.
