Whilst I'm not as engine pulling inclined as you boys, I'm pretty clued on if you want  a hand with shit Wob. I liked Jamie's car, and would like the opportunity to help you with it.....perhaps for some hoist time for my Foz so I can finally fit my kartboy endlinks....#SlackLyf

Also 'Start' owes me for the heads up I gave him for his career/dead end job. I still own top cover for that kid.

sooooo

Big thanks to Mark he gave me a hand today picking up the motor in the Maloo

Turns out the motor was wired in with a flying lead loom, which is actually a better way to wire up the motor

so i got that with the motor too, now comes the tedious task of figuring out which wire does what.... fun

Need to find a 99 Wrx ecu pin out

also need to figure out how the temp gauge is going to work, since the original wiring is no longer going to the factory ecu

90B3EC0B-A9D3-4390-ADF9-44B002A2DED5.jpg

Started by pulling all the tape off the loom where i could, figured out a few of the critical things

but yep, still a lot to do

way over my head lol  :scratch_one-s_head:

Awesome news about the loom man.
If you take your time and double check everything, you'll be fine ;-)
Any idea what ECU was being used in the old car?
You might be able to save some time by finding what wires are assigned to what by default

As for the factory ecu side of things
It's just a 99 wrx pin out

Need to find one
But seems as if I only need a couple of wires from the factory ecu anyway

Not much has happened really

Figured out most of the wires, uploaded my modified basemap to the ecu all seems to be working well, won't really know till I start it up though

Been collecting a shitload of parts, for the early 100k service
Genuine Timing belt kit
Cast sti water pump
Every external oil seal
Braided Avcs turbo feed line
Company 23 timing belt guide
Grimnspeed double thickness 3 bolt up pipe gasket for non leakyness from the psr equal lengths

Haltech IO expander cause the ps1000 hasn't got enough inputs and out puts
Flex sensor

So exciting times to come :)
