Camping is not my favourite thing to do... I much prefer being safe and sound inside a double-brick house with a natural gas fireplace and hot spa ready any time I want it.

We have a camper trailer as it offers more room than a caravan and is better to tow. Most of time we set up unpowered at campsites but also use powered sites (winter) at caravan parks. I have seen people in tents at caravan parks with TV sets, media players etc. and they get take away for every meal. At least we have a full kitchen and a gas fridge so we cook 99% of our meals.
My plan is to do more bush camping once the kids are a bit older but a 6sp RB wagon is not ideal for offroading. If I drove a 4WD as a daily Id put a bullet through my brain so Im stuck between a rock and a hard place.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Depending on the type of event depends on my level. Doing the Otford to Bundeena walk soon, have to carry everything on our back so will be a small tent job. When we go to a campsite near the beach we normally pack everything, including bbq and matress. Am looking at building a camping trailer, but also equally keen for Overland Track with some camping thrown in.
But you're right, some people never properly camp.

If you could get a Foz with a factory H6 or a manual Obk H6 Id be so in.
I'm sure this could be arranged.
I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

It could, but it wouldn't be factory.

Not yet.
If it's a CVT (even with step logic) then the chances of me owning one are slim at best. Combine that with the horror stories I keep hearing regarding late model diesels then the chances fall to zero.
The idea of a patrol diesel is that fuel is readily available in the middle of nowhere and they are not common rail, so will cope better and more easily fixed if they gulp dodgy fuel. Plus they will go places an OBK or Foz can't and they are less likely to be shaken to bits on bad roads.
