It's an RS engine.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Meh, the guy is learning. Good on him. I LOL'd at the other cawks who are trying to help him though. They have NFI idea. At least the OP knows he doesn't.

Bolt is probably just blocking off some form of breather that isn't used... I'm not all that offended by it as I have seen it 11ty billion times through the workshop

That bolt is blocking off the hose to the IACV (idle air control valve). Air intake piping has been swapped from factory pipes.

right spent about 13hrs today trying to get my engine in running etc...failed pretty decently got blisters on my hands from whinching the fat load of subaru up the driveway, which F**ken hurt when i washed my hands, not that, that was the real problem, anyway EVENTUALLY got the engine in and wired up and connected only took a few hours or f**k**g around with engine mounts. then got it all together, started filling up the radiator...F**k off big water leak out the water pump, F**ken brilliant. anyway swaped water pumps around timing belts, a few other bearings, then went to start the car. flat battery! so got out the jumper leads still wouldn't start, waiting for fuel to inject or whatever, then my mate notices the coil pack is arching out, so swapped it over and it eventually started running like absolute shit! on what we though was 3cylinders (turns out it was 2!) my mate then checks for spark that was all good and then unplugs the injectors, still goes shit, so removed injector 4, it was that fricken clogged up it wasnt letting fuel pass through! swapped it with the other injector and it was fairly dirty but it ran okay, took car for a drive and still running on 3cylinders, injector 2 was fowked... have a CEL light aswell havnt had time to check codes but im hoping its the injectors. tomorro gotta flush everything new oil, coolant. next engine will have every single thing checked and replaced before it goes in!! and jeff will be around to show of his bartender skills :D

Haha jeff! Well today I swaped injectors over and she's running pretty good, CEL light went away aswell. Valve guides are worn so it blows a little smoke but nothing too bad. T the orignial engine dad changed about 3years ago because of the worn valve guides with another engine, which come from the wreckers it has cracked heads now but im getting a gen2 ej22 with a hole in the block but the heads should be fine hopefully. So new pistions rings etc as this current engine is only put in until I do that. So technically its 2 engines :P Haha soop!!
