well , heres my rant for the night ..
Got defected in the old girl (GX conversion), was going down a hill saw cops ahead who had pulled over some commonwhore so i thought ide whack it in neutral and sail past to avoid any attention. Get to the bottom of the hill at the lights, ready to turn left, look around, no cop car, light goes green, car coming up behind me and i prayed it wasnt an orange XR6 Turbo .. Alas it was, turned onto Old Windsor Rd, stayed in the left hand lane and made as little noise as possible and went at least 10 kays under the limit. Bang. Disco lights.
Basically got good cop and bad cop. One apparently was hell bent on defecting every mofo left on earth, the other ( strangeley the senior ) was much nicer and great to chat to. They said i was lucky i had a great attitude and was happy to take it on the chin, apparently if your a d**k to captain defect, he will Red Sticker your car.
- POD, BOV, FMIC and missing rear muffler ( i have 2 other resonators ) i was happy to accept
- No H pattern on gear stick, WTF seriously!
- Tyre profile too low, Subaru 17" rims with 205/40's. Plenty of fuggn tyre.
- Tints, petty
- ONE SEAT BOLT was about half a thread out. Really petty.
- Get this one, my battery clamp was tight as a toiger, then captain defect fiddles with it till its loose, hits the neg terminal with it, sparks fly and i get done for that. It was tight before he touched it!
ARGHHHHH i just want this car gone already.http://www.subyclub.com/public/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif
That is deadset ridiculous!, Take that to court mate!
The H pattern, Tyre profile, Tints, Battery clamp is all BS!

Nah wasnt "RBT", they pulled me over mostly due to lack of muffler lol. Its fair enough, im not going to argue it cos rules are rules and theres nothing i can do about it. But the seat mount bolt, h pattern wheels and tints are just so petty. I think the law with the tints is if the car had the tints apllied before 1994. I cant think of many cars getting around with super dark tints that have survived 15 years of blistering Ausie sun! I had an interesting convo though with one of the cops about engineering certs. He said that if you get all your mods engineered and keep a copy of it in your car, you CANNOT get defected for the listed modifications. However, if you have a modification NOT listed on the certificate it VOIDS the whole certificate.
the tyre profile is a tricky one, the "GX" as it is still registered is listed as having 14in rims and as such technically only 16's are max legal.
some have suggested saying its a RS which would allow upto 17 or 18 but they go by whats on the rego.
the H pattern is BS! go buy a whiteout pen and draw the H on there

Tint; well we all know the deal there, i have seen some seriously dark tint kicking around and at night there is no way you would be able to see.. the way i am getting around it with the missus's daily is getting the rears 20% and the fronts 25 or 30%, that way it makes the fronts apprear even lighter and they really dont question it as the fronts are what need to be 35% max. (its a black car so it literally cooks you on a sunny day so i really want as dark as i can especially for the kids in the back)
As for the battery tie down.. thats crap, did he check your washer bottle? they can get you for having no water in it also

it might sound suss but when i was driving a mates car (which had a few things that would have it stickered for sure) i had a cop follow for a while i just pulled into a driveway and walked to the door asking if john was home.. yes the person was like WTF no but then i just jumped back in the car sat in it for a few minutes with the melways clearly visible and pulled out and drove the oppsite way to which they were parked, worked for me

F@!K THE CAT!
would you like your kids playin in cat ****?
as for the cover, we've got one. little cun7 pulls it back. being 2.5m2 its too big to put a solid one on.
IMO people who own cats need to take responsibility for their cat. We've got a big dog (that can be aggressive towards other dogs when provoked) so we spent 3 1/2g on 6 ft colorbond fence to make sure he doesn't get out, why can't they spend couple of buck on some kitty litter and make sure it shits where its supposed to?

Unfortunatly its not quite that easy, have you ever trained a cat? They are far to independent to be able to do that at that degree, if you have a cat that lives 99% of its life indoors, yes a cat will **** in a tray. One that spends all day outside will behave like an outside animal thus taking a dump wherever deemed necessary. If your that concerned, why not get a litter tray for like $5 and put some sand in it and leave it near the sand pit when not in use?
