January 2016: The car got its first proper wash and detail in awhile, something I needed to do way more often. My brothers SS-V Ute was also done.

IMG_1370.jpg

I got a little bored one night and thought I would have a go painting the badge since I had some left over paint from my wheels. Its in pretty bad shape anyway so I was not worried if I was not super happy with it. I found my rear garnish was cracked for some reason so its a good excuse to replace it with a JDM one which will come with another badge anyway.

Considering the effort put in, I do not mind the end result.

Came out ok I suppose for the time put in.

January 2016: Chris from Best Mufflers in Carlton did an incredible job on my exhaust system. Great price and absolutely incredible service. He gave great advice on what needed to be done and fixed up a few of the little things while the car was there.

The car was loaded up ready for its work. Chris picture shows just how bad the condition of the front is.

The original front half of the system. Tired, old and ready for replacement!

Off they come!

Subaru_H6_Liberty_Headers_Cats_03.jpg

The new catalytic converters, Magnaflow 59905M x2 with the sensor fittings welded in.

Subaru_H6_Liberty_Headers_Cats_04.jpg

The Raptor headers fitted with the rest of the system, 2 1/4 inch stainless.

Subaru_H6_Liberty_Headers_Cats_05.jpg

The cat-back suffered from the old XForce hang, which from what I have seen it is pretty common.

Subaru_H6_Liberty_Headers_Cats_06.jpg

The pipe work was painted matt black and the hanging pipes fixed.

Gotta love a new exhaust. How does it sound? I assume it'll sound better and better once a bit of carbon builds up.

I bought my exhaust bits from Chris as well and would definitely recommend him. He probably thought it was me when he saw the car enter the workshop, haha!

Looking good.

I probably have the black 3.0RB that you were looking for, I just haven't advertised it yet :-)

You need to change your rear springs to king springs to take the sag out of the bum, it will handle heaps better too !

Keep up the good work, my car has 280k on it now, still runs like a sewing machine and runs well.

Fuel economy wise I get between 11 and 12 L/100, lots of people have told me that's great, but I have always seen that except on a trip when it can get down ti high 8's or low 9's.

Yeah man it's sounds pretty damn mint. So happy with the sound. I just had to cat back before so I licked that I was able to have time in stages of stock, catback and full system with headers. The E85 tune brought the car alive, not so much in top end power which I can notice but throttle response. The car really lagged anywhere under 4K which would make it hard to get a good launch but not it comes on so much stronger getting torque from 2250rpm. I'll get a couple vids to show.

Cheers man, really loving the car these days. I haven't seen your black one. When I bought my car it kinda stumbled onto me through a friend. I put a deposit on Matthew Parslow's white GT wagon which blew a heart. Really wans't looking for a H6, was actually avoiding them but the price was something I couldn't argue with. The K's didn't bother me, 330K strong. SOOO happy I with the H6 though.

You should have a look for one of these, not easy to get I don't think but really finish the car off I reckon.

I wouldn't mind that badge.

Good to hear man. I haven't thought about E85 and I've since reverted to my stock tune after getting the new engine in. Keen to see the videos so don't forget to post them up.

You know TBH I can't even remember where I got it from, I think Import Monster actually, only available on JDM Legacy models.

Everything is in Japanese, it has a number on the top of the paperwork which says: LEGACY-4A-2040, not sure if that means anything :-)

It was just after this my new DeatschWerks DW65c fuel pump. The car was booked in for the new pump, filter and sock to be installed at the mechanic. The car was tuned with the old stuff in the car so the E85 could flush the fuel system, due to this for the last few tanks I have had to drive under 3K, not an task.

Damn she's looking sexy man! This has given me a push to get mine back up to par. Time to get some things sorted next week. ;)

What happened to your centre caps?
