Anyone know where I might possibly be able to source these plugs? The plastic's have gone super brittle and shattered when removing them, the wiring and pins are in good nick so ideally I could just source the shells, with or without tails, and repin to suit. They are the alternator and coil pack connectors from a bug eye wrx.

Local dealership said I have to get the whole harnesses at a completely retarded price (over $1000 for coil pack harness alone, main harness for alternator was more again). No love from partsouq or chaplins either.

I will have a look at mouser or digikey too but I am doubtful they will have it.

Any ideas?

Could you post some front on pics.

If you look on electronic part websites you could find a compatible connector, or at least a very close match and inorder to make it compatible, you just need to do a few small tweaks.

Had the same thing happen to the coil connector on a GT-B the other day.

I wonder if there is a way of finding the manufacturer of these plugs? I know other brands (ones that can supply just the connector housing) have the manufacturer listed in the workshop manual.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Try looking for a close match on some of these sites, just plug in a few details the number of contacts and the pin pitch(distance between the center of two pins) number of rows

is this the alternator plug? Seems to be many 3-pin harness replacements about the place.

RS have some automotive connectors -- chances of the right one are slim, of course.

Might be able to check on mouser too, shipping costs may be pretty high though

Ok - I think the alternator one is a generic 'oval' 3-pin denso part, also used in Nissans etc.

You may find the COP plug is the same deal (nippondenso).

I'll most likely have a decent alternator one if you are interested in second hand. Possibly the coil plugs too.
I'll check tonight.

If so, they're yours.

Ok, so I have gone through mouser, digikey and RS's online catalogues and they seem to have neither plug, they had some close ones for the alternator but nothing exact.

Duncan those links you suggested for the alternator is the correct plugs too, after some mad googling and a bit of cross referencing I think the correct manufacturer part numbers for the connectors are:

Alternator: Sumitomo TS090 series p/n 6189-0443

Coil Pack: Furukawa RF series p/n FW-C-D3F

The alternator plugs are easy actually, they seem to be everywhere as they seem to be a fairly universal connector but the coil plugs are much harder to find. The only place I have been able to find that carry both parts are these guys in the USA:

http://www.corsa-tec...category_id=117

Before I order them though I'm going to have a trawl through aliexpress and see if I can't get a bunch of them for cheapish, would be handy as a backup for myself or anyone else that gets the same issue.

Thanks Kong, I might still take you up on that yet as international postage is going to suck big ones at this time of year!

I really doubt your going to find the exact connector.

Manufacturers get them custom since they get millions made up, this way if you need a replacement part, you have to go to the dealer.

You can get a close match and you could get it to work with some tweaking.

You could also get a male and female connectors and rewire the loom, this is assuming that the connector on the alterntor side is not physiclly on the alternator.
