Yes both are components of the cruise, the throttle control is over by the headlight.

? You mean the cylinder with a throttle cable coming off it near the LHS headlight?

I meant the gal strap up against the intercooler and firewall with four visible holes and a couple of bolt heads

 

hes talking about the same thing, the thing near the headlight is a balloon shape-throttle cable... cylinder is as he said some sort of vacuum component of the cruise system

 

 

 

 

I had to solder the IR sensor back onto my cruise control, I found it under the drivers seat when I bought the car... its a purple pimple thing on the dash. The remote on the steering wheel works like a TV remote.

 

must be the same thing, i have the purple pimple haha need to check over all the cables make sure its all connected. mosti just said it didnt work when i bought it so didnt even bother taking a look

ah ok.

Thing up front will be the actuator (diaphragm pulling on throttle cable), the other bit'll be the vac pump.

I had that on mine although vac unit was inside guard. Removed the whole lot for a much cleaner bay.
