Now to the car!
I have a white 1999 Gen 3 Liberty RX bought it a few years ago now, around mid 2013. Growing up I always loved these cars and naturally when I was on my L's and looking for cars I search for a gen 3 lib! Ended up finding the cleanest one I've ever seen.
Completely stock, 1 older male owner, 51E White (my favourite Suby colour) and had about 62,000kms on it! Everything was immaculate! For what it was, anyway as the story goes I bought it and I still love it! And today I finally hit 100,000kms which is what inspired me to write this post! After I finished school and have been working my apprenticeship I'm required to drive a lot in my own car, sometimes I'll do 2000-3000 kms a week so naturally the KM's on the car were too hard to keep down as I love driving the car and what's the point of having a car you like and not driving it!
Edit: pics of car stock as a rock
Only photo I can find of the original interior dash with new head unit
Second one is my friends photo he took, disregard the emoji's haha

-oil and filter
- air filter
- new water pump
- drive and timing belts
- crank and cam seals
- coolant
- UEC
After driving the car for about 2 years to school and work it didn't do too many kms and just had over 72,000kms and around that time my friends and I started to really get passionate about cars and wanted to make our cars as nice as we could, it also happened around that same time I went on a school exchange program to Japan and lived there for 3 weeks. As I was there I noticed that the Legacys in Japan were a bit different than our Liberty's. So in my last year of school in between studying for HSC and work I did some small mods on the car which I'll get to later.
I then ended up starting my apprentice ship at the start of last year and since then I have been using my car heaps, driving to site, carrying tools etc so I love that fact that it's practical and that's my main goal for the car however I also want to make its really clean and try to put some of the awesome JDM specials that they got in Japan.
As I was driving the car more I got some more things done to the car.
At 75,000:
- new 430cca battery
- wiper linkage
- platinum spark plugs
- brake service new pads and clean and re greased the sliding part hahah, can't remember what it's called but I did it
A few pics I dig up when I was working on the car and doing the brakes.
That's all for the major stuff that was done other than regular services I've done on the car. Oil, filters, UEC and fuel additive which I found last service. I normally do this myself every 6 months or ~10,000 whichever comes first.
Found a pic of an upper engine cleaner:

Mod list so far includes:
- Legacy garnish and rear tail lights also made a harness adaptor from the AUDM to JDM harness that I got when I bought the tail lights
- 17" wrx wheels in champagne colour also painted my brake callipers White
- JDM HID's with levelling equipment to be completed (yahoo auctions)
- B4 RSK front bar with lip and fog lights (Ichiban)
Sneaky UEL headers in the back^
You can also see my makeshift grill and hella horns I installed last night haha. Gonna try make a mesh grill with a spare legacy badge I have. I normally have a JDM Legacy grill
- JDM folding and heated mirrors (Ichiban )
I actually swapped the shell of the mirrors over, so I took out the motor and glass from the Japanese mirrors and my mirrors and put the Japanese motor in my mirror shel as they were in better condition.
-JDM Interior with electric seat and flippy cup holder, definitely the best part!
- White HVAC led lights

Looks like it's held on with double sided tape and some clips that I received with the window visors from Japan. Has anyone installed these? If so do you have any tips? Haha
Thanks Patrick.

- Custom SS exhaust : Borla Replica headers which I got for $50 on gumtree SS and a stainless steel system from the cat back including a varex exhaust I got from an exhaust shop got it new haha, got the exhausted installed and I did the wiring for the varex, looks sweet and works awesome!
Managed to find a video of the exhaust from my friend, I might even post a better one comparing the varex on and off soon, but for now, unequal length goodness.

- sound system: Sony XAV612BT head unit, kicker component tweeters and speakers in the front run of an alpine 4chn amp, no rear speakers as the set I bought were too small so I never installed them (waiting for a big sale to go on), MTX slim line 10" sub (not huge, but enough to sound like a full experience) run of an alpine mono amp.
- Red hazard switch
- Footwell lighting kit I bought that came the other week (plug and play for legacy I think, but not on the liberty)
- Legacy floor mats
- Momo steering wheels with custom cruise control cut out.
- de badged the Liberty 2.5 and the AWD and replaced with a 'Subaru' badge that came on the boot lid for the legacy garnish I bought.
Found a photo of when the car was a bit clean and look good ahha

Far out pat, it's like looking in a mirror! RevA-C, 51E, wheels, weathershields, interior - red hazard, black surrounds. Very cool. Looks very tidy!
PS. Get those black trims painted brother! <$100 for 51E in a can, some masking tape, gloss clear and some cutting compound.
PPS. #cruisecontrolenvy
If you want a perfect condition space saver spare with JDM warning sticker goodness, let me know. I'm up the road (and will be in Sydney this weekend)

You can see why I loved your car so much, it's legit the car I've always wanted!
Yes, the paint is a must, I've got a test piece at home I wanna play around with, my trim is a bit... Bubbly or bumpy, where your ones are smooth, gonna try smoothing it out with a few different techniques and painting to see what looks better before I spray mine. Hmm that's does sound tempting but I have my old 16" for the spare and it's good enough, I'll spend the money on stuff for painting these trims haha

So some goodies came today when I got home from work sneak peak for everyone

You talking monsoons? They are easy and should come with instructions. Pretty much line them up, peel back 10mm of the tape cover, place monsoon in the area, then tear the rest of the tape cover off at 90 degrees while pressing firmly on the monsoon.

A quick google search reveals that I am thanks, they do have clips with them but I'll have to see what's up the clips mounting tape might be enough
Thanks, Pat

A lot of guys are running just tape. I have clips and tape, but my doors aren't frameless like yours.

If you have the clips, use them. Use good quality double sided tape. 3M is best.
Yes sir, I'll see when I pull my old ones off I'll have a look as suss out what I need. Came with a pile of clips
