i'm a big fan of the falcon, especially that plastic blue colour!.
p.s, can I please have the 5000th post..
like a little landmark for me
That blue looks great on an XR
You can have the 5000th if you can find a photo of a monkey. Not a normal monkey, but one dressed in a tutu, ice skating, while eating a pretzel.
THey do look nice. Look really good in gunmetal grey. I'm sure it'd go hard. 4.0L straight 6 turbo?
Haven't driven on yet, but they have quite a bit of powah. the G6 is the NA straight 6. The G6E Turbo is the the grand daddy and has something like 530+ Nm of torque.
The turbo might be a little out of my price range... I'd absolutely love one of those but would probably only be able to afford one with a big balloon payment at the end of the lease.
Will see how it pans out.

If we're talking 6-cylinder versions - I'd assume the drivetrain. The engine-gearbox combo in the Commodore is terribly unrefined and clunky when compared with the torquey I6 of the Falcon and its sweet shifting ZF gearbox which is leagues ahead of GM's ancient 4-speed auto.So whats the deal winners for the Falcon over a Sports wagon?
I'd love one of those HSV Sportwagons though

Yeah ive read that about the VE's vs FG's. Disappointing being a Holden fan.

I've never disputed that; Wagons rule! I always wanted a wagon....in fact, before I put a purchased my current car, I actually had a deposit on a mint condition RX wagon w. manual gearbox.See, wagon>sedan. GO on Shiv, You know you want too
Dealer was a crook....deposit canceled. Purchased my current car. Live happily ever after

Lets think up some nice wagons:
E63 AMG
Sportswagon
Legacy
Legnum
Caldina
RS4 and RS6
300C
*drools*
Sweet dreams

Ah right. Get my fords mixed up. Holden > Ford
.
Fark thats a lot of torque.

Yeah, some of what Shiv said...
The ZF gearbox (if you get a model with the 6 speed auto) is one of the finest transmissions on the market. That combined with the I6 Turbo is a very sweet setup.
Even if you go for a base model the 5 speed is leagues ahead of the VE 4 speed, 5 speed and 6 speed.
The build quality and refinement of the FG kicks all sorts of arse over the VE, although I agree, the Sportswagons looks are brilliant.
As well as that, if Ford decide to go ahead and scrap their I6 production, anyone with a turbo model will be sitting on an appreciating asset and one of the best engines on the market.
In my eyes the VE is already starting to date a bit and I've felt more at home in the FG than the VE.

I've heard this also! Hope it doesn't happen anytime soon in the FG's lifetime. As well as that, if Ford decide to go ahead and scrap their I6 production, anyone with a turbo model will be sitting on an appreciating asset and one of the best engines on the market.
Get yourself a nicely specced up G6E Turbo and you never know....it may well be in high demand in a few years time.

At this stage Ford have announced that they aren't going to cease porduction at this stage... But that may well change very quickly.

Scuze me?
The only Holden to still use the Turbo700 4speed is the pov spec OMEGA.
Why does it still use it, because its POV spec.
Everything else has the 6speed. Which rocks your socks.
Chris, cant you get the same sorta deal with the bent8 if the 6-t is out of the budget?
At least towing would be easier with the 8 then the NA 6.

LOL Soop, what about the Commodore Berlina? That uses the 4-speedScuze me?

AND the special edition Commodores that have been released which lots of private buyers purchased and still purchase today, such as the V-Series, Lumina, International and 60th Anniversary editions.
So to get a half-decent gearbox in a Commodore, you need to buy a sports model like the SV6 or a luxury model like the Calais at the very least!!

God your dumb, yes DUMB.
Do your research about holdens automatics in the VE range champ, before you go writing drizzle.
Bloody p platers.
Stick to your subi, learn this before you move onto other cars, especially when it comes to flaming Holden, when you have me around here
