Tell me about it Mark. It would be a no brainer if they had a waghoon. Pauly, AFAIK the I6T has just as much, if not more, torque as the 8 and is availabe in spades at a lower point in the rev range. So they should both be pretty decent towing machines. Not that I'd be towing anything more than a box trailer or a runabout boat. What I can't figure out is that you'll pay as much for an XR6T or an XR8 as you would for a G6ET?? As if you wouldn't go for the G6ET with all the extra luxo spec that comes as standard. For the money, the up spec'd VE's don't compare to the FG. The VE's are a bit more expensive than the FG. Go figure....

God your dumb, yes DUMB.

Do your research about holdens automatics in the VE range champ, before you go writing drizzle.

Bloody p platers.

Stick to your subi, learn this before you move onto other cars, especially when it comes to flaming Holden, when you have me around here :P

Do my research?

Brendan, could you actually tell me what I said that was wrong, apart from upsetting you about saying something not nice about Holdens?

I would like to know so I'm not running around spreading false truths. I'm pretty sure that 4-spd is a dinosaur and everyone knows it! Nothing to defend there...

Oh and I'm not a Holden flamer. In fact I love 'em, well before I ever loved Subys :)

4 speed is standard on all the low output V6's like the base model, anniversary editions, omega and also the Berlina. 5 speed auto on the High output V6's like SV6 and Calais, 6 speed auto available on V8's.

Yeah I know the I6t's are better. I'm f*cked if I know why ford bother with the v8.
I was drawing the comparison between the NA i6 and the v8. For cost.
But if they cost the same kinda money, ford have screwy accountants.

Josh, 6spd is nomy. nomy nom nom noms nomy.

LOL Soop, what about the Commodore Berlina? That uses the 4-speed ;)

AND the special edition Commodores that have been released which lots of private buyers purchased and still purchase today, such as the V-Series, Lumina, International and 60th Anniversary editions.

So to get a half-decent gearbox in a Commodore, you need to buy a sports model like the SV6 or a luxury model like the Calais at the very least!!

Awesome. :D

Tristan, as usual, brings teh fail with him.

G6E is a nice unit. I'd buy one as a luxobarge to hoon around in. Fantastic tourer by the looks of things. As mentioned, pity no wagon.

Someone tell me. Do the FG wagons still run a live, leaf sprung rear end as the earlier models? Perhaps why there's no tarbo lover (except for F6 ute range = death)

Shiv - Harsh call there. You've experienced this? VY's with 4spds I've driven weren't that bad. Sure they weren't inspiring, but they're not an inspiring car to drive to begin with. But they're not as bad as you make them out to be.

This thread needs moarr antilag. coz lag = fail. and there's too much fail here already.. And moarrr 2J. Not 7Mfail.

this motor.
in a citroen 2cv.
win.
