Off-boost bad behavior!

...it turned out to be that the cheapie version of fuel filter from Repco & SuperCheapAuto (silverline) doesn't seal correctly in that (annoying) cup on the fuel pump housing and stuffs with the fuel flow at high speeds.
I purchased a new filter cup, new o-ring, OEM filter and replaced a flexible fuel line...wallah, perfection
*The fuel line was because I accidentally kinked the middle line that runs from the top of the housing...p.s you can use Speedflow fittings and stainless braided nylon tubing for that.

Already ruled that out mate. Changed filter, no change to behavior. It's an intermittent issue which gradually worsens the longer you drive for and is most prevalent at higher speeds and lower speeds.
Swapped out the Fuel Pump Controller today with a newer one from a B4 (scored for $10 from Pick & Pay). Haven't gone for a drive since, but I'll check it out on the way to work tomorrow.
If there's no change, I'm moving onto the fuel pump.

Fresh fuel pump controller made no difference.

One was on the right side-a vac hose for the fuel pressure regulator - hard 'U' shaped piece
And the other was on the front left-used for fuel purge I think
Sorry it might not be of much help, but thought I'd let you know anyway as they could be relevant

Its a possibility that might be the issue. Considering its one of the few things that carried over to the new motor.

They never have purge control solenoids. Always the first thing that's taken on them! NA's have a different style PCS anyway which is useless. Might have to search eBay or something.

Mines was giving the problem however for me. Check light code pop up it was my injectors the number 4 injector was Reading 0hms and the others was reading 55ohms
If you change fuel filter and pump might as well go straight through the system to the part it sprays in the engine bay.

However this behaviour was present, albeit at a lesser scale, before the engine swap. Im trying to rule out things that carried across to the new motor first, then work my way back.
At least alot things are getting replaced!
Just bought a PCS so will see how that runs

Have you tried hooking it up to RomRaider? Might worth pulling any codes and data logging it?

In the meantime, ill plug my old cluster back in and see if i can retrieve a CEL.
Probably what I should have done first, really..

Another update...
Switched out the BFM for my old cluster to see if I could retrieve a CEL (BFM cluster not displaying CEL, dunno). ECU was blinking the all-clear, so all that effort for nil. I had a feeling it would be clear, which means the issue is
more than likely to be a mechanical hitch of some sort.
I also went about removing the plastic one way valve, which I had used as a substitute for a broken Purge Control Solenoid. I haven't taken it for a spin yet so not sure if that's the culprit. I have
a replacement PCS on it's way.
If there was a problem with say the O2 sensor or MAP sensor, surely the ECU would log it?
I think I'm getting closer to the fuel pump being the jerk in all of this. There's nothing left to change bar the ECU itself.
