Mmm, for me it's get RS out of garage where it has been sitting for last 8 years, get it to NRG for complete check over and fix anything not right, then get blue slip and register it
Hopefully it will make it there and back in one piece :-)

New tyres before I torque steer in to a tree.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Too bloody much.

  • touch up rims
  • fix front bumper sag
  • replace bushes (front lower control arm, rear diff cradle, rear diff member, anti-lift kit)
  • exhaust alignment
  • new tyres and wheel alignment
  • minor service

Gut feeling tells me none of it will happen.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

I need to get the hail damage repaired, but it's taking too long to get booked in under insurance.

So instead I've asked the insurance company for a cash settlement. If I can live with a pock marked foz, a few Gs for mods would be handy :)

Can't you get dentmasters or some paintless dent removal company to have a look and quote it and then get the insurance company to just use them ?

That's what I did when my old Legacy got hit, Shannons were happy to do that, maybe your insurer won't allow you to do it but it's not different to being able to choose your repairer, same thing.

RX25SE before it sat in my garage for 8 years it sat in a collection for 5 years as well, only driven about 40 kays in 13 years !

Hopefully not too much will need to be done to it, but I know one of the coil packs need replacing and maybe some bushes, hopefully it will be all good !

Paul,

I remember you commenting on its life when you had it up for sale and I was just as impressed then as I am now.
It's so nice to hear of unmolested, low kms limited build cars like yours. Such a collectors piece and a real credit to you.

Thanks Jase, unfortunately the km's aren't that low, around 200k, but I am challenged with what to do with it now and whether to "spruce" it up a little but only time will tell I suppose.

I have toyed with the idea of keeping it looking 100% original and giving it a suspension and engine tickle, but $$$ don't permit any of that so just getting it on the road so I can drive it will be enough for now.

I would suggest you leave it as original as possible, historically that's where the money is with collector cars. Many times I have seen muscle cars out price restored examples at auction.

Might bite the bullet and hope the front left CV survives the trip there and back. Can't really afford to buy parts at the moment, bills + saving for the trip there makes it interesting. The RS runs, thats all that matters

Totally agree Jase, but after spending 12 months trying to sell it and accepting that nobody was wanting an original car I was thinking about tweaking it a little under the skin, maybe even retaining all original parts so that it can be changed back later if I ever wanted to, but alas money speaks all languages and at the moment the funds just aren't there so nothing will happen except the basics for now.

My jobs on the lead up ...

Had the babby seat removed and fitted to the wife's car today, along with taking the pram out, so Stage 1 weight reduction completed!

Tyres are looking good along with everything else, just needs a good scrub and vac.

Hoping to get a routine service done beforehand, given the timing it'll be due then anyway. Have everything here ready to go.

Unfortunately, no $ for mods so it's going to look pretty pedestrian but all in good time. I was hoping to at least have a new set of plates but $ is tighter than a dog in a catflap at the moment!
