Currently we've got titles attached to our profiles, like Newbie, or Advanced Member e.t.c. What's Admin's thoughts on rewarding the first 50 or the first 100 members with a special title? something like Foundation Member or something like that? It means nothing at the end of the day apart from bragging rights, but I thought it might just be a little bit of a warm and fuzzy gift for the first lot of members that have taken the effort to sign up to the forum. Thoughts?

It'd be good to have the recognition that you were here from the beginning, sounds like a good idea...

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Sounds good, I think either an admin can set a custom title or the member can change their own. Will have a look into how it's done tonight. edit: It's actually based on minimum posts before user may change their title, so may make a thread and change them manually for people who'd like it done. Any suggestions?

I don't think users should be able to change their title at all.

I reckon from 1-100 posts, they should be a "Newbie" or if we're going to be formal, "New Member".

After 100 posts, they should be "Trusted Member"

I don't think we should be allowing for the change of the titles any further than that, (i.e. Once a member hits 500 posts, their title changes to "Advanced Member" e.t.c.) as this is what prompts unecessary posting in order to gain a certain status in their title.

As for the suggestion in my original post, why don't we make the first 50 members titles either "Advanced Member" as they already are and change all of the others, or change the first 50 members to "Foundation Member"?
