Let me know when you get here.
How about we all just stay as we are and if we are still here after 1000 posts or so give out titles.
Do we really need this "us and them" thing happening here.

Soop is right. User titles can cause issues between members sometimes. But.... i do think that the "founding" members should be recognised in some way as they are the ppl that created what we have here. I'm not against having something under the Avatar stating the fact that the member was one of the first. If that makes sense

How about we get the forum to some respectable degree prior to handing out these titles? I mean, ffs EVERY member is a founding member at this point. Lets see who's left in 12months - 2 years and then give them some recognition.

Agreed......although it is still hard to justify giving a title to someone that joined on day one and never contributed for a year and then shows up expecting the red carpet.

It will be hard to give "special" titles out at any time for any reason as the ppl that miss out will wonder why they don't deserve it.

I already know I'm "special" so I'm happy even if I dont get a special title

Listen guys, let's not get hung up on silly titles, you haven't heard the actual people who built this thing clanging about titles have you ??? Let's concentrate on talk about cars, amazingly enough that's why this board was built.... Titles, logos, groups, and fancy words can all come later, let's focus on the site design and functionality before anybody goes and pats themselves on the back, I for one want to see a site that works as a discussion forum about Subarus, anything else that happens to happen is a bonus :-) Enjoy Paul

Yeah, agreed. I think anyone that truly gets hung up on group titles need not bother - ultimately we are all here for the same reason and it should all be one happy loving (gay) family. Hell, incest is a game the entire family can play.

Wasn't this forum created to steer away from useless threads and all the politics that OZlib had? In the first 2 weeks it was great. Soop worked alot on putting quality information and tech posts up which included DIY's that are very valuable to the community. Wheres the rest? we cant only survive on the stuff we extracted from ozliberty and other forums. lets go out and create our own tests. Go out and learn the hard way. No ones learns by just reading what people tell them. you have to do it your self. trial and error. dont be afraid to get your hand dirty. find out why that car isnt turning over, check what you think could be the problem. from there ask a friend who may have an idea. Then once you have no other options, you should post a thread on the forum to get answers from the tech guys. this will stop alot of useless threads and reduce people repeating them selfs. PM the thread starter if its an old thread instead of reviving it. its all thse small things that will stand this forum out from the rest.

well if you really want silly crapy titles then people who brained stormed about this site for like 6 months should get the title site pioneers....but then again those people didnt brain storm it and create it or put in the time and money to get it going just to get a title....they did it so we can have a free forum for all to enjoy without the crap ozlib had ie moderation and post counts... Im in the proccess of gathering and collecting information on various different things from diagrams of timing belt replacing to the digrams for all of the car..some things ill borrow from ozliberty somethings will be my own and other things will be from my car and me fideling with it...and thats what this forum is about as Lance said information for all.

F*cken bang on Jovi. That's exactly the attitude the forums need. People need to explore things and tinker and find out the results. Instead of taking a bunch of hearsay (Disregarding valid sources) and making a decision based upon it. Were the forum comes into its own, is when people can run idea's by others to insure their idea/thought pattern is correct and if it's not, what is in fact the correct way to go about it. When you have a bunch of morons congregating in one place, you end up with moronic idea's and information. I say save the special wanker titles for those that earn them, by doing more than simply joining up first. No good being #10 and never posting or contributing. Quality > quantity.

I've seen some forums (havent got an example off-hand) where users can give other users ratings and it shows up every time they post, sort of like a reputation scale decided by other members. Just an idea?

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.
