Well, crap


Talking to a bloke in QLD about his 01 manual GTB thats already single turbo and white. Basically taking 2 steps ahead and an actual legacy. Not what 100% what i wanted, but i think its the smarter move

Yeah it’d be good to go for a “turn key” drive, and just enjoy it, but where’s the fun in that? Maybe Nick enjoys the build as much as he enjoys driving it...

What about one for now (the qld unit) with another build on the side? 8)

You have no idea how much of a god send that actually is with the Gen3. Believe me, it was painful (on multiple levels) changing looms over in the sedan, let alone the waghoon!

Well I placed a deposit on the GTB in QLD and all going well will be mine sometime this week, albeit in Queensland. Thankfully I have a mate up there (who used to be a member of this forum known for his lack of enclosed footwear) who has been a madlad and basically handling it all for me and storing the car in the interim

I read an article today about transport companies being overrun by Victorians returning from Qld. They would normally drive, but due to the covid situation in NSW and the required need to quarantine once home if visiting NSW, they have opted to fly home and have their vehicles either stored or trucked back to Vic! Funny because the last time NSW had a scare everyone was driving around NSW via SA - times have changed I guess...

All the best with getting this new ride back home and Congratulations!

Looks good Barbs - and in Westinghouse white which seems to be your choice of colour!

That weird B4 blue interior always gets me for the wrong reasons..!

If you don't find any Nick, just wait until I strip the RX. Got a set in there.

That looks like a full Aussie spec interior Nick! Blue black leather and silver trims... Garnish looks darkened, but the outer lights look like Aus spec (ie not tinted) from the photos!

I've also got a set of braided lines if you want them. They're not in the best nic though, NSW coast has rusted them pretty good.

The aussie blue and black is actually jap blue and black, was even a red and black for the blitzens. Wasnt just an AUDM B4 thing. Also i believe only the sedans got the tinted garnish, never seen a similarly dark wagon one. 

Ideally ill find a set of the Lancaster 6 piano black ones.

As for brake lines ill probs just get new when i pull the rear end apart for a birthday. Hopefully i can find some TB STi/S401 backing plates. Dont really want to deal with adaptors if i dont have to

Mmmm. Interesting, I'm learning more. Piano Black is the goods, but I had issues finding any even normal dark ones when I was looking flat out (when parts for these were abundant). Best of luck with the search! Nice to know about the garnishes, I thought I'd seen some back in the day. Food for thought, the Aussie Subaru garnish is the same as the 401 unit, bar the tinting. Ie it says Subaru rather than Legacy.
