:negative: only acceptable outback shell is an all white H6 one, but im not a big fan of the outback front bar and you cant swap to a non OB bar without plastic welding on the flares

both front and back?

Be the first to do a “flare” delete :D ...and end up with essentially a Liberty that you’d also have to de-lift during the swap over (nor here or there in this situation).

Liberty it is then! 8)

When they cut it in half, any way they can keep the interior roof liner? To swap the tailgate this has to come out and if yours is ratshit you’ve got a JDM (with genuine JDM cigarette smoke and other smells) spare to use ;)

Even though your last Liberty was written off after all the work you put into it, this is exciting! Can’t wait for it to all happen for you.

Cheers

See if you can salvage as much as you can Barbs, it'll make or break some ideas, and you can never have too many spares. Agree, try and get a liberty, it's a lot of hassle to change outhouse stuff for legacy stuff. Especially painful bits like the flares. Can be done, but lots of work when you already have lots to start with. Just my opinion, after swapping a sedan setup.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

That’ll buff out! Just do what we did with my old Torana - you’ll need to big old trees, two or three lengths of chain, a hammer, a winch and an oxy torch. Oxy torch is optional...

Essentially we “re stretched” the front of the car between the two trees. Oxy made it easier with the thicker 70’s steel.

Youch! Yea, that's not coming back without major work. Worst part is the battery acid will do a number on everything in that area where the battery was, looks like it would have split the casing.

Yep pretty sure one of the cells cracked and spilt. Given the washer bottle and overflow are still full im assuming thats what the water i saw was. Luckily it had enough life after a charge to get it into the shed. My driveway is not conducive to trucks getting in and out without blocking a major road

As spoken about Nick, dibs on the arse end.
Shame to see it come to this, but here we are. Recommend keeping pedals and all respective manualised things. Otherwise it'll end up like I was and swearing that you've forgotten stuff for the conversion on the new toy.

Well if i play my cards right ill have a manual local shell and a manual GTB so hopefully that can sort of stay as it is. Will be keeping the manual stuff anyway probably in a box somewhere for a future rainy day

Nice. Good call, spares like that are painful and expensive to get after the fact!
