So now about 90% of the worlds beer will be made by one company...

Kind of hard to wrap your head around that sort of stat.

Maybe I'm getting confused for just the US market rather than global?

Either way, it's a fucktonne of beer controlled by one company.

Anheuser Busch owns most of Heineken anyway.

They also own a stake share in Modello (Corona). Hoegarden, Kirin, Tennents Boddingtons Lowenbrau etc. etc.

SAB miller owns all sorts of shit too, Tyskie, Coors, Blue Moon, fork I think they own Fosters too now.

Two seconds I'll try and find a thingy.

Nah they are saying that 50% of all beer is made by 4 companies, they don't specify which market that is though I assume the US.

I think Brett makes the other 49% and Nik makes 1%.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

4 becomes 2 under this deal though!

They own Leffe!

Here is a chart from 2010 (best I can find, sorry!)

Craft beer should get hold of this story, and forking let people know what's up.

4 create 50%.

2 of those merge, that now means of those original 4, the merged company now creates 25% and the other two each create 12.5%.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Haha, dammit!

:)

I guess the end result here, is this is a serious amount of beer produced by one company.

Doesn't it say this will be the 5th largest corporate acquisition, of any kind, in history?

Nutty!
