Had the Rogue Santa Reserve Ale yesterday. Was pretty special. Also had the Rogue John John Ale. Seriously. Murders Mikeller.

Correct! Absolutely awesome, I took a sip and thought, SHIT! This is too sweet. But on closer inspection, was awesome.
Drunk from the bottle. Aussie XMAS style.

Coupled with the high alcohol, it definitely does. Still have a DFH Santo Palo oak aged to try... maybe later.

I want to get more, but I'm not confident in buying from that place anymore. I have had a few brews which were no where near their peak (Couple of rouges, Sierra Nevada and brewdog), "grey importing" issues ?
I would love to (one day... prolly never cos it would require saving and organisation) goto the dogfish head brew pub and try some of the 30+ crazy beers they basically never mass produce.

The only importing issues are with DFH & STONES. Same people, and they are unwilling to send beer internationally unless it is guaranteed cold freight 100%. Unless you're talking about parallel imports? Which Phoenix has been accused of, and considering Phoenix owns the IBS - wouldn't surprise anyone.
Y'know Brendan is working for Gage Roads now? Odd.

Didn't know (didn't care to look into it TBH) who owned IBS.
I'll agree with you on one thing... that back/side room... hmmm, bit iffy now the days are heating up.. Picked up a bottle of rouge the other week (don't recall which) and it was quite hot to the touch. Didn't buy that one!
Can't say I knew about Brendon, although I heard they had issues with a batch of beer recently and "did something dodgy to fix it". I say no more, as I know no more.
One of the blokes I work with mentioned "The Beer Store Morley". Might go check them out.

The idea on those dodgy imports is that they are imported into a different country, and then imported here as if it was a good from that country. It happens with New Zealand and China all the bloody time, nine times out of ten a frozen fruit or vegetable product from NZ actually originates in China, and is then sent here as a NZ product. People in Australia figure, well, NZ is like our sister and we believe their values in food standards to be the same as ours, so we buy it!
SOYT: Went to the Lord when I was in Sydney a few months back, bit of a beer lovers pilgrimage in Australia I suppose. I went to order my second round and there was a man dressed as a pirate at the bar next to me. I figured he was all part of the LN charm and an employee.
He wasn't. He was just a man dressed as a pirate ordering a weak flat white and a lemonade.
The beer was pretty good, but if you buy it in bottle you must remember that it is actually brewed off premise under licence, not in the small brew house downstairs.
Cheers,
Nik

I asked them for something hoppy and i gotta say i'm a bit disappointed. It's very flowery and floral'y with only slight hoppyness.
Self-rep for the MDSC glass.
Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

the flowery and floraly-ness would be from the hops (depending on what hops and when its used gives different characteristics)It's very flowery and floral'y with only slight hoppyness.

Infact, reading the blurb about it on their site, I would say a late addition

Cascade... that is often the flower/floral bit.

Yep I figured it was the Cascade doing it.
It's just an 'ok'.
In other good news, i've found they bottle Feral Hop Hog...so I got a 4 pack.
Delicious.

Hop Rocker is pretty cool. The cascade is final addition to the boil, but being from UNZUD, they would load the hell out of it up front with CatsPiss commonly known as Nelson Sauvin. You're better off on the Sassy Red I reckon.
Cheers,
Nik
