Don't be surprised if what you make first go doesn't taste particularly good :D I hope it does though!

Write down exactly what you do. Temps etc are important information. Change one thing from brew to brew and see what effect it has. If you keep doing the same thing, you'll get the same result.

Sig worthy.

So True, Brett!

What would you recommend to sterilise? I have some coopers steriliser stuff somewhere, it's gone missing in the move. Should I buy more of that, or just use bleach?

I picked up my gear today, It's covered in shed dust and grime. Hope it cleans up alright!

I'd buy some new stuff. The no rinse stuff is obviously the easiest. I use Neo pink which you do need to rinse out afterwards. It's a cleaner and sterilizer in one.

Sig worthy.

The Monk Brewery "Bounty" coconut stout.
In a word, awesome. Great colour ( dark dark dark with a slight red hue at the edge), solid head retention which is hard with the oils from the coconut additions doing their best to destroy the protein that produces the foam. Aroma is very reminiscent of a lamington, which is exactly what the brewers were going for. Great sweet malt flavour with chocolate notes rather than coffee, caramel and toffee also present. I dont actually remember what the abv is, which probably has more to do with the beers I drank after it. I'd guess around 6%

Sig worthy.

Hi,

It's a Pumpkin Ale from Stateside. When it didn't show the image I got angry and turned off the computer.

Cheers,
Nik

Ahh cool. Been looking forward to trying a pumpkin ale. I'm assuming there's going to be a bottle with my name on it.

Found this while scrunching paper for the fire.

Would've been fun!

Also Nik, the shop may be a potential for a NSW stockist of Nikbrew?

Hi,

They did call me (thanks for thinking of us, by the way!) but they really only want beer in keg form. We're not really able to do that due to a few equipment limitations.

EDIT: Ah, I've now read it properly. It was the TapHouse that called, not this bottle-o! Might have to give them a tinkle!

Those 5L kegs are pretty cool. I was around at our mates brewery last night and he had just gotten some in, pretty nice.

Posted Image

$60/5L - not bad considering Little Creatures sell for between $45/50.

Cheers,
Nik
