My Gen2 2.2 was getting an easy 650kms a tank. My Gen2 GT gets 500kms a tank. Im also fastidious about the running and mantenance of my cars. Im happy. :D

It's not rocket science. Replace the air filter. Check for vacuum leaks. Run some UEC through your car. Change the oil. Clean the AFM. Change plugs and leads. Replace the o2 sensor. Replace the coolant temp sender. Check for exhaust leaks. Check for a collapsed cat. My gen2 Auto 2.2 piece of shit gets on average 650km's to a tank. The best I've gotten is 700km's. This is taking into account that when the gauge says empty i have 20ltrs left in the tank. (I.e; actual Km's done + 20ltrs.) So obviously my method has some merit.

but your motor is a 2.5 so that shouldn't keep us that far apart from acheving similar figures but i'm not sure..
i do servicing and everything myself.

There's quite a bit of difference between the 2 engines. (if you're talking about power figures)

In stock form the following applies:

EJ22
94kW @ 5200rpm
190Nm @ 4400rpm

EJ25
115kW @ 5600rpm
223Nm @ 3600rpm

That's quite a difference..

In stock form the EJ25 claims 9 seconds in the 0-100, so with the power figures above, you'd expect the EJ22 (in stock form) to do it in around 11 seconds.

I'd suggest taking your car to Subaru and getting a diagnostic run on it to check whether anything is broken, or whether you've missed anything during the work you've done on it already. Their computers might pick up an error code or something.

Also keep in mind the GenII has a 60 litre tank compared to 64 in a GenIII. That will make a bit of a difference too.

Coolant temp sender cost me $57. Chris, My shitheap does 0-100 in around 9seconds. Weight will probably play a roll there too. Gen2's are substantially lighter.

Yeah, the figures above are in stock form. In a different post I indicated that a sensibly modded EJ22 would expect about 9 seconds in the 0-100 dash.
Glad to know that I was on the money...

There are two. Ask for the 2 (3?) wire ECU CTS. This is the correct one. I'm fairly sure it was $50+

yeh i had a hard time trying to get him to find the part so yeh i belive you it would be 50 plus. did u feel the difference in economy after you changed it? also it looks like its in a b*tch of a position to change but i'm sure it'll be done. SUBARU with the gen 2 you can check the engine fault codes but bridging 2 wires and atm i've got none.

You wont feel a difference. Unless the car is running like a total bag of shit. Your hip pocket might get a little heavier.
